76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 legion242 (107) Richardson, Texas | August 14, 2011 Able to viist here on a junket for the brewery and we were treated like kings. So, take my review with a grain of salt, as we were probably treated better then the average tourist. Warm ambience and as one previous rater stated, empty mugs do not stay that way long. | 60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 TheGrandMaster (105) Auckland, New Zealand | August 10, 2009 Traditional beerhall setting and the range of Budvar on draft (including the Kroužkovaný Ležák). | 36 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 2/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD 3/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 7/20 Quack-Duck (166) Down South, Germany | August 4, 2008 Pivnice in the Budavr hotel Maly Pivovar, a few steps from the main square. Traditional interieur with wooden panels and historic pictures. Krouzkovane pivo/Kräusenbier is available here, as well as the rest of the Budvar range. The meals they offer are the usual suspects, nothing special. My portion of potato pancake with smoked meat (Cmunda po Kaplicku) was unusually and incredibly tiny for a Czech restaurant, but quite well-prepared. The beer is excellent. Watch out: once you’ve emptied the glass, it is automatically and immediately replaced by a new one. Staff were effective but not friendly at all. During my visit in 2006 the waiter was much more friendly. |
