In downtown Hayward just up the street from The Bistro. The place was darkly lit on a rainy weekend night. Not a huge crowd, but a handful of people at tables and at the bar. Kind of an old west feel. Bartenders were friendly enough, service was quick. The beers were okay at best. Price was decent ($6-something for 5 samples). Okay place for a few ticks, but not some place I need to go back to.

Each time I’m in the area this place gets out prioritized until now. Very happy to finally visit. Right here on B-Street there’s loads of patio seating and some cool rustic oak décor inside. I had the hot pastrami on rye and it was dynamite. Tried only the “on premise” brewed beer and it was ok. Make sure to take a trip toward the rest rooms where their maybe 10 barrel brewhouse is located as well as a small fermenter farm. Nice set up. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu and more of their beer offerings made here. Friendly staff and friendly atmosphere.

We were trying to eat here right before catching a movie across the street. The wait staff was very helpful and got us seated. The ambiance was pretty standard I guess, nothing special. The burger with blue cheese was pretty good. Seemed like a average value. But the beers are really hit and miss. D of the 5 beer sampler and 3 were good. Overall, not bad,not great.

This place is close to the Bistro, so I usually head out here for a bite to eat during the beer festivals for a breather. It’s usually pretty busy but I’ve never had to wait for a table or service. The food is decent and the beers are Ok. Nice place inside and out on the patio. They seem to have a reputation even among non craft drinkers as I always hear this place mentioned when I’m talking to people about the Bay Area beer scene. I guess because they’ve been around forever. The beer is forgettable, but a good stop for some tic’s if that’s your thing.

Stopped in here for a late lunch on 8/7/10. Place has a good feel to it in terms of both cleanliness and clientele. The service was good. They had 6 beers on the sampler. Nothing extraordinary, but decent. Tried their pizza known as the Wrangler and it was very good. Worth walking across the street for after the Bistro’s IPA Fest.

Decent beers and good appetizers. I had a sampler to try some of their brews and my buddies had some of their beers and we had an appetizer tray. We sat outside and had to wait a long time as our waitress forgot us several times.

Average beer and good food. Right down the street from the Bistro and they never enter any beers in the many fests the Bistro holds. Curious? The pizza is pretty good.

The beer is pretty good. Don’t expect the employees to know anything about beer or a beer experience. The food have gotten much better recently as they have gone away from the fancy ’California’ style and went to a more bar type food options. Sure do miss the days way back when they had the dart boards.

A nice place downtown Hayward. Great Pizza and nice selection of food. Some strange beer selections like the pumpkin ale, and most of them I like.

I enjoy visiting this place when I get the chance. The staff is friendly and service is good for the bay area. I like the Oatmeal Stout the best. I have been going there for a few years and have seen some seasonal beers but I think it is time they change or add some different beers.
