Small friendly cafe/brewpub at the beginning/end of the Great Alpine way, close enough to the Prince's Highway for a quick stop. Walking towards them, the aroma of bacon and beer brewing filled the air. The pork scratchings/chicharron are house made, as are many other surprisingly fresh items. Good proper chips with rosemary salt. One guest tap and the house brews, the best of which was the pale. The others were all flawed in some way (syrupy stout, diacetyl in the brown ale, infected ipa, etc). The pale ale was quite nice tho.

I came across this neeat little brewpub in Bruthen on the Great Alpine Rd. The building is quite modern in style but fits in quite well. From the Patio there is a nice view of the Tambo Valley. They have 6 beers on tap and do offer a sampler paddle if you desire. The Personnel are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the beers they craft. The beers are not going to wow you but are quite solid. They have a good menu to choose from for those wishing to dine. This place is a bit out of the way but worth checking out.

Very impressed. Gippsland is not well endowed with great eateries, particularly in East Gippy, but this place rates highly regardless of the beer. Great mod fit-out and very good service. Beers are quite good but more in the serviceable bracket (but solid). A must stop in when in the area.
