74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 ryanscourt (10) Pennsylvania | January 21, 2013 Was able to get 12 4 oz samples for only 12$. Lots of unique and fun styles of beer, from beers with chili peppers to sour ales. Very comfortable in there. I hear there is quizzo during the weak, and other fun things to do. Had a nice time. Only one little tv if you are interested in watching any sporting events, its probably not the place. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 jercraigs (234) Toronto, Ontario | August 30, 2012 2012-08-17. Nice location in a small town, visible tanks, decently long bar. High ceilings and assorted chairs. It has an eclectic feel about it. Food was pretty solid. Not sure why my request to have a different dressing on my wrap meant it had to be on the side, but that made it a bit awkward to apply. Beers varied from okay to pretty solid, the Edgar IPA being a standout. They had a decent selection of their own beers on and a couple of guest taps. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. There is a Wegman’s around the corner as well with bottles for sale.
| 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 pvequalsnrt (10) Norristown, | February 17, 2012 my wife’s family is from buffalo, so i make it a point to stop here on the way home every time we go visit to fill a couple growlers. the edgar IPA is one of the best made in PA. they have a couple beers i keep an eye out for, but i haven’t seen them in quite some time. maybe terry took the recipes with him when he left? i’ll probably never know. they still experiment a decent amount which is nice, but recently haven’t had anything earth-shattering.
food is decent... nicely priced. but i’m here for the beer. they have live music a couple times a week, although i’ve never been there for it.
just make sure you adhere to what the sign on the door recommends: do not park in the adjacent parking lot during business hours. someone bored office worker must sit at a window and call the towing company even before you’ve put your car in park if you don’t belong...
i make it a point to stop here every chance i get. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Brewbie (17) New York | September 5, 2011 Stopped on the way up back to NY. Sat at a couple tables next to the window on a hot summer afternoon. Nice little place. The service was excellent. The food was good and they had a nice selection on tap the day we were there. Had a small pizza and tried a few pints. Large tanks dominate the space behind the bar. Growlers for sale, but no bottles. Definitely will stop again when nearby. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 orangesol (73) Pennsylvania | August 31, 2011 Went up to Bullfrog with a friend of mine for the El Diablo Deluxe release.
Atmosphere was good. Plenty of people all around enjoying a few beers with friends. Service was good. It took a good bit of time for our server to come over but once she did it was all smooth sailing from then on. The beer selection was good. No guest taps but Bullfrog’s beers were plenty for me. Since it was friday they had the "Beers Gone Wild" line on. It was a sour porter and it was very interesting and tasted great. I was hoping they would have something on the cask line but no dice on this trip. Food was really good. I had the cheese head burger with sweet potato fires. The burger was cooked just right and the fries were crispy and tasted great. If you are in the area you should definitely go here. The food is great and the beer is top notch. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 Ernesto987 (54) Connecticut | August 25, 2011 Great American craft brewery. Solid representation of common styles and great creativity in complex styles, coffee saison. Awesome, great food and service. Keep up the good work | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (49) GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania | July 26, 2011 A great place. Good atmosphere. Good food. Knowledgeable staff. Great beer. I just wish I was able to get there more often. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 rudolf (100) Buffalo, New York | July 14, 2011 I stopped into Bullfrog for lunch and a few beers on a recent road trip. Food was good - I had the funk burger which was nearly impossible to fit in my mouth and beers were, for the most part, solid. Its a beautiful space - copper kettles, stainless fermentation & serving tanks dominate the 1st floor. We kind of ate & ran, since we were on our way down to DC but I’ll certainly swing by here again next time I’m passing through. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 johnnnniee (64) Bedford, New Hampshire | June 2, 2011 8/9/2009 I went here last week while on vacation with the family. Our visit was on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, we were there at about 2pm.
On Sundays bullfrogs does a Sunday brunch and that ends at 2 so it was wrapping up as we got there. There were a couple of guys doing an acoustic set as we were getting our table they finished up before the first drinks got to our table.
The building that they are in is right downtown in a long skinny space. As you walk in there are tables in front of you, a small stage area to the right and a little further down a long bar on the left. Brewing equipment is behind the bar. Walk a little further and there is another small seating area. I would be surprised if they could seat more than 75 people, it seems like a really small space.
On tap this day were 5 brews (they were erasing 3 from the tap board as I was about to order). Killer Keller, Billtown Blond, Export Stout, a porter and something else that escapes me right now. I had the Stout, Porter and the Keller. All were good, the Stout was my favorite, but certainly nothing earth shattering.
The food was standard pub fare, most of the usual suspects there. Burgers, wraps, sandwiches, mini pizzas called Fajizza’s and some entrees as well. The food was good, I heard no complaints from my wife or from the kids.
Our waitress seemed less than trilled to have us as clients on this day. We were seated and waited a long time for her to come say hi to us and when she did she took our drink order and disappeared again. Our entire lunch experience involved waiting on our waitress, I was very disappointed with this. The people seated next to us had a different waitress, they were seated after us and ate long before we did. Anyhow, her tip reflected her level of service.
I ended up buying a couple of Edgar IPA’s to go, but wish I could have tried it first.
This was an OK brewpub experience for me, I certainly had better on this trip. I would consider revisiting this pub if in the area in the future, but I don’t think I would go out of my way again. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 Zax (10) | April 8, 2011 The Edgar IPA is worth the trip. The food is pretty good too. It can get crowded, especially if live music is on the docket. And, it seems to loud at all times, even without the music. Parking around this place sucks. |
