Good place for a nice meal and good selection of beer. The wait staff wasn’t too friendly, and not very knowledgeable. Maybe a little too typical. The best thing going for it is the food is good quality and there’s a nice selection of beers to go with it. The service could be improved.

In town for first time, stopped in for lunch. Has some good food and was delighted to find 30 Belgian style beers on draft. I think I died and went to heaven!! They have sell samplers of four 4 oz tasters, nice way to sample Belgians I haven’t had before. They have 4 beers from "lowland brewing" a Belgian brewer brewing for the restaurant group. Tried 3 of the 4 and liked them all. You like Belgian beers ( I love them) you are going to love this place!

Nice place downtown w/ a good selection of different belgian beers. They have a few local micros as well, but you’re here for the Belgians.

As the name suggests this place has quite a large selection of Belgian beers on tap and by the bottle. The bottle list is pretty extensive. Not much in the way of local beer but there's a few on tap. The bar is nice and open. Servers are good if sometimes absent. Food was great. I had some sort of pancake topped with eggs and beer cheese sauce. Dynamite! Solid stop if you're in town.

Pricey. A bit uppity. A bit more focus on imports than craft. Huge selection of taps and bottles. Staff seem to know a bit about beer. Not bad. I did not eat.

Cool rooftop patio. Food is very good. Basically the same as all the other Lowlands restaurants. There are several "Belgians" on tap that rarely change. It’s probably at the top of the heap with alehouse for beer nerds in the third ward.

This is the fifth member of the Lowlands Group of restaurants in and around Milwaukee (others are Cafe Hollander, Trocadero and two called Cafe Centraal). Cafe Benelux, like the others, has a remarkable selection of Belgian-style ales on tap plus a crazy-long beer menu that gets reprinted every few months. The bar area here is a bit cramped, with restaurant seating packed in close. The food selections are excellent (a pannenkoeken is certainly worth trying). The cafe is in a very trendy neighborhood (shopping, restaurants and theaters nearby) , so finding street parking can be a challenge. I’m looking forward to trying the rooftop patio seating next summer.

Was here in October. My wife and I hung out at the bar for hours, eating, drinking and watching the World Series. Very nice, newer place with a pretty big bar area and lots of dinner seating. Service was very good, the bartender didn’t pretend to know everything about every beer but still was very helpful. Selection was huge, tons of local, domestic and import drafts and even more bottles, it’s almost overwhelming. Food was very good and the prices seemed more than fair for what you got. This is a must stop if you find yourself in Milwaukee.
