Visited the 27th September 2014 after the Borefts 2014. For me the best place in Utrecht. On the city center this small place has an amazing beer selection, with good beer from Holland and others countries on bottle. The service is really great and the ambiance is amazing. People there was really friendly. The price are smart and the decoration is nice. I really recommend this place, the best one in Utrecht.

Visited with friends on a Monday afternoon. Small old place downtown Utrecht near the station. We weren’t alone in the cafe but there was seating room. Really nice cozy ambiance. The owner was super friendly and we had an amazing time, he really knew his stuff and you could tell that he really polished the selection in his bar. We actually came to taste jenevers but ended up tasting those, a rum and a couple of lambics as well (nice selection, including lots of de Cam). The belgian beers are made up of a list of classics, but if you’re into spirits and/or lambic as I am, then this is certainly the place for you. Prices were quite reasonable. Great place, I will most certainly be back.

Beautiful old pub, mostly locals. A decent selection of draught beer and an impressive lambic selection for the Netherlands (especially a small town such as Utrecht) for cheap prices. Very good spirit selection, The owner is very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. We had a very nice Jenever tasting (1/3 pours). I definitely recommend this place.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this one yet. :-) Knowledgeable staff, also good whiskeys if you’re interested. Often (mostly) new beers on tap from the Utrecht area. Very cosey place. Probably my favourite bar in Utrecht. Must visit. Just a little out of the (shopping) centre, but still walking and crawling distance.

I love a place that has more than 10 beers I haven’t had yet. And good ones to boot. It’s a tiny place but we were there in the afternoon, wonder what it is like in the evening. Has a lot of locals, always nice. Definitely a place I will go to again, they also champion local beers like Duits & Lauret, Vandestreek and Maximus.

Cosy and busy cafe. Bartender is a nice guy and knows stuff. Good geuze list. Selection is ok, could be better.

Visited september 2013. A very cosy, busy place. Great beer selection, both on tap but mainly the bottlelist was superb. Very friendly and serviceminded staff, that knows stuff about beers. Beers are well served and in good condition. The celler is under one of the tables, so when it is time to change a beer, guests have to move a bit around, but that then gives you the chance to have a tour around the celler :-)

(Visited July 2013) Nice pub just south of the city centre, and just a couple of minutes walk from De Drie Dorstige Herten. Traditional corner pub with worn brown wooden tables and chairs.Friendly and knowledgeable service. Beer selection is not massive, but well chosen. Six taps, mainly Dutch micros and a couple of Germans. Interesting selection of bottles. I had slightly higher expectations, but they had limited opening hours during a couple of July weeks, so I suppose it could be of even more interest. With a couple of good new ticks, a small selection of friendly fellow beer geeks, some serious blues in the speakers and the house cat sleeping on my table, I can’t really complain about ambiance and home feel. Will be back when they’re running on full speed.

An excellent local Utrecht bar that me and my father stumbled into completely by accident on a cycle-tour around the Netherlands. Both being serious real-ale and cider enthusiasts, we couldn’t believe our luck that we’d found this amazing bar run by an evangelist for top-quality British craft beer, Erik! We had a great night drinking more beers than I care to remember with our friendly host, but the real revelation was the fantastic Dutch beers that we trusted Erik to provide us with, choices that he supplemented from his vast range of bottles and drafts. Top quality beer, chatter and atmosphere, the only thing I could possibly ask for was perhaps a few more bar snacks, but I understand Erik didn’t open the place to start up as a Chef, so that’s forgiveable. Check it out! Missing it already.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. A cozy "Bruin Café" with a nice mix of tap beers from small breweries. Decent bottle list, didn’t ask for the gueuze list b/c I don’t really care for them, but they had some nice stuff on the temporary beer list. Fair prices. Really friendly talkative owner(?) who let us sample some great whisky as well. Will definitely revisit.
