70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 Fin (368) Merton, Oxfordshire, England, England | October 9, 2012 We visited on Monday 1st October 2012 and I have to say I rather enjoyed this place. I must confess that I am not 100% certain on the tap and bottle numbers, though there was a nice selection with a few interesting beers on tap and bottle that I hadn’t seen that often elsewhere in the Netherlands. I had a Bronckhorst Nightporter (I think it was the peated malt version) Loz a Rochefort 10, prices were quite reasonable considering the central location and service very good and very friendly. The bar inside was quite small and laid out in an oblong with a large window area looking out onto the pedestrianised street. We sat outside and I must say one thing that did impress me was that the bar used the grey lintel of the computer shop opposite to chalk on what beers they had on tap in the bar, this was especially handy for those of us sat outside and those who sat looking out of the large window, a novel and clever idea I thought. I would happily visit here again if in the area and was surprised that it wasn’t already listed, ok so it doesn’t have the selection of Cafe Moortgat but it certainly is worthy of inclusion of any beer stroll around Arnhem in my opinion. |
