Great place! Used to go there in the 90s with 1 macro on tap- but the place ( or the beer selection) has really improved! Great selection on tap of small norwegian microbreweries. Very nice bottle selection as well. A must visit in Oslo

En koselig pub i Oslo. Godt utvalg på flaske og et greit utvalg på tapp. Et sted verdt et besøk når man forviler seg en tur til oslo.

The good: Very cozy brown cafe with a great selection of bottle beers. Visited during Nøgne Ø tap takeover. Lively atmosphere. Nice prices for Oslo. Food is cheap. The bad: Can get packed. The food feels too much like cheap products.

A very good selection of norwegian craft beers, there are "only" 10 tap, but the selection is good. They also have a nice selection of beers on bottle. staff is friendly. they also serve food that looks good, but i didnt try it.

Previously a brown bar it’s lately one of the best bars in Oslo with a very good selection of beers as well as the only place in Oslo to have some of the lesser known norwegian micros. The service is excellent and the food is good and decently priced.

Over the last couple of years this café, founded in 1989, has been turned into the best beer bar in Oslo. OK, there are a couple of brewpubs that can rival it, but as for that beer bar feeling, great selection of Norwegian micros and excellent service Café Sara as of 2014 is rivaled by none in the Norwegian capital. Period. Its owner, Murat Kurakuyu, is always interested in getting in beer from new Norwegian micros and Sara is probably the biggest outlet for young micros like Veholt Brygghus and Lindheim Ølkompani, which always seem to be on tap here. You’ll usually also find draught beer from Lervig, HaandBryggeriet and Nøgne Ø. And Sara has got a pretty impressive bottle beer menu, it was here I first got to try Hubertus Grøftøl, Altstadberger Stjørdalsøl and other hard to get micro breweries. Café Sara also offers foreign beers, though on a smaller scale, but I’ve had some great bottles from The Lost Abbey, Cigar City and Westbrook and on my most recent visit the bar offered Cantillon Iris 2013 on tap! Combine this great interest in quality beer with a very good kitchen, you’ve simply got the best beer bar in Oslo. Period. Last visited: 2015-06-03

A really nice little brown pub. Actually it’s not that small, neither that brown, but might give that impression at the first glimpse. For sure it’s a cozy, unpretentious pub with friendly and pretty enthusiastic staff, decent Mexican food reasonably prized. Wide opening hours and a rather decent beer selection with focus on small scale Norwegian beer and high quality import beer. The beers are fair priced as well from a Norwegian point of view. The opening hours are convenient for visiting them as early as a late breakfast or even a really late dinner. I really fall in love with this place and will definitively visit again. One of the top three places in Oslo right now (spring 2014).

Now, Cafe Sara has been around for around 25 years now. And for most of this time, it’s been just another quite cheap bar/cafe run by immigrants who just flog beer at students and local who look for a fairly nice place to drink (in Norwegian terms) cheap lager. However, in addition to making good food and having a kitchen open far later than most other places around, in the last 2 or 3 years they’ve become a really great place for craft beer. Their selection isn’t huge, but... It changes often, fast and in an inspired way. They have the usual industry lager on tap, but now they also keep having Norwegian microbrewers on tap (some who make beers specially for our neighborhood) as well as surprising foreign beers (they had Cantillon Cherry lambic just a couple of weeks ago). They also have a mid sized bottle colletion, which they keep changing as well. If you’re heading from lets say Crowbar Brewery to Schouskjelleren Brewery, why not check in on Sara? She might surprise you.

Very comitted owner that does what he can to be the first to introduce new Norwegian craftbeer from the more unknown microbreweries. Also a descent number of imported bottles that are sirculated frequently.Service is a bit bingo depending on what vaitor you get. Some are absolutely brilliant, but unfortunatly others are on the opposite end of the scale. Prices on the exclusive bottles are among the best in Oslo. Food is tasty, cheap (for Oslo), but not fancy. It’s good pub-food.

Well, this place was a whatever bar not long ago. From a couple of years until now they are having a lot of new brews from norwegian and other micros. Ambiance is ok, the food not so bad. The kitchen opens until 2am wich is better to have some good turkish food here than a shitty kebab at any other place. Good service and the brews are rotating every week, some very ineteresting things like some beers that some micros make for them. Torgata IPA for example, very good. This is nowadays a most visit place in Oslo if you want some good beer and something to eat at the same time.
