I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants good cajun food and craft beer!!! #25 on Best Beer Restaurants 2011www.ratebeer.com should be in the top 10!

I was down for Hunapu’s Day and heard about this place. The tap list and bottle list was impressive, I had the Crab Cakes and the Creole Gumbo, both were great! I also decided to try the Whiskey Bread Pudding, thank god I did, best damn bread pudding I have ever had!! If I were local to the area I would frequent the Cajun Cafe regularly!! I am glad I tried this place, it was a great experience!!

Dinner with my wife. Fantastic food, beer selection for both tap and bottles so good for a restaurant (would be even for most of the bars). Staff so nice, Paul served us a sampler of 5 drafts plus threw in 2 extras for free. A must to visit if you are in the Tampa area.

One of the true gems in the Tampa Bay area. Wonderful Cajun food in a down home setting. Restaurant is off the road on a "bayou" which makes for a wonderful setting. Have spotted various forms of wildlife during my numerous visits. Nthe beer menu is beyond great for a restaurant. Numerous quality draft offerings (6 or so Cigar City) and a very large bottle list. The owners are wonderful and set the hospitable tone that is found here. The servers are knowledgeable about the beer and food and are very quick. The food is wonderful as good as you would find in Louisiana. This place is the total package. Try it you will be glad you did.

I can’t say enough about the Cajun Cafe and Paul Unwin, the owner. Not only is his love of beer evident in everything he does, the food is excellent, the service is top notch, and everything about the place makes you want to eat and drink more. A true beer- and food- lovers paradise, tucked away overlooking the bayou. Do not miss this one!

Je laisse les bons temps roulez @ Cajun Café. Ambiance, ok, how to explain this, walking into Bourbon street on the bayou in Florida, greeted by a jolly Brit from Bristol in sweltering FL humidity, get the picture? Subtle Cajun tunes playing in the back with carnivalesque setting. Quench your thirst with LA beer, or even better, a local FL brew, enjoy hot and spicy gator along with other Cajun grub. Cajun Café is an experience in itself that is by far the best place in the Tampa area, away from the corporate feel and industrial style building. Go there when they have Cajun bands or crab festival and you will understand why this spot is one not to be missed.

Finally got to visit today. OUTSTANDING! Atmosphere was amazing. Old style, rustic, bayou style. Felt like i was at someone’s house hanging out on the porch, drinking beer and eating amazing food. Staff rocked! Paul treated us like family. I love this place. Catfish Po’boy was amazing and the Pork Boudin Balls were possibly the best food that I have ever ingested. Good beers listed. Down home style place. A Must visit.

I just love this place and that’s all there is to it. Best fried oyster po boy I’ve ever tasted and I’ve tasted a lot of them. Fresh, fresh, fresh oysters. The atmosphere is more "cajun" and "bayou" than any joint in or around New Orleans. Also, the place is actually on a Mthrfckng bayou. How cool is that?

Wow. My first visit this past weekend, and I will definitely be back! Paul (the owner) greeted us and came over and talked to us. He was very knowledgeable about beer and very passionate about beer and food. I had the vegetarian plate with deliciously spicy fried okra, and some beautiful whiskey bread pudding. Great time and great beer to drink with the awesome food. Wait staff was Johnny-on-the-Spot, and the view of the water was great.
