72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20
I was in Stuttgart for works some days ago and this brewpub really helped me to get relaxed after work.
The brew production is quite in line with the German standard, low fermentation and various interpretation of the classic styles of German’s brew.
Anyway the beer are very fine, i particularly appreciated the PIls and the Schwarz ones.
Food is really good, and I will not sya more, just try it if you can!
Prices are good, if you’re interested in; the only thing that left me confused was the service. I had to wait a lo of time just to say "hey, guys! Hello! I’m over here.... hey! Where can I sit? HEllo? There’s no one?"
Have it good and go sampling, it’s a nice place!

Years ago by far the best place in town though always average service. Nowadays they seldomly have their seasonal, though it is still advertised. The predictable choice of beers are usually of good quality. Pity to see this nice upstairs bar slowly drifting into oblivion.

Old rating and papers from 2011. Almost citycenter, 1 floor with dark wooden interior, cosy atmosphere, not too many people, late weekday. No food, only tried the pilsner and their Weinachbier, ok.

Quite nice first-floor brew- pub close to the main pedestrian road in the city-centre; looks a bit like a modern interpretation of a traditional south-german beer-hall, divided into several areas by woodwork and stained glass; larger bar area in one corner with a huge flat-screen TV on the ceiling; gets often crowded in the evening, but the service is always friendly and - Achtung! - the beers are above average, both by Svabian standards and by german brewpub standards. Worth a visit when You are in town…

The place is nice, food is tasty (big portions!), but their beers... I sampled the pils, the märzen and the schwarz and none of them was above average. The schwarz was the worst I ever had in the style. Beside that, I really recommend a stop here: though the service is slow (slower than a man could ever imagine), though they serve beers in 0,2 or 0,3 glass, their food is simply amazing. And cheap, like everywhere in Germany. Maybe the best restaurant I’ve been so far in Germany

Neat traditional place, just a few meters from the Stadtmitte U-Bahn & S-Bahn station, just follow the signs for Calwer strasse. You’ll see Paulaner first, and this place is a few steps past it and upstairs. Service was terrific, the beers were tasty enough, and the food was OK.

62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20
Visited on a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon in September 2009.
Easy to find and a short climb up a few stairs away from the shops and cafes that line this end of Calwer Str at ground level.
Dark and interesting layout, a kind of enclosed box sits in the centre of the large single room, which is split by the said square area into almost different areas. The actual bar is to your right as you way in, you have to pass the food to get there (if like us you visit on a Sunday, more later).
There were a few families eating and us two just drinking, no problems though, plenty of room and they were happy for us to taste their beers.
I liked the place, loads of wood, strange light shades and an ’Arty-Farty’ feel to the whole set-up. I tried three different beers from the taps and each one was most enjoyable, the good lady enjoyed her two too.
Back to the food; on a Sunday they do an ’All you can eat buffet’. Wish we hadn’t had a half-chicken and chips at a beer garden earlier. The cost was very reasonable (8 Euro per person at the time) and the selection of both hot and cold food was very impressive. I had a good look even though we were full, the food included ’Swine-Haxen’, White Bavarian sausages, Meat Balls, Ribs, a choice of spuds, cakes, fruits, salads, veg and almost anything else Germany is good at producing.
If we were to re-visit Stuttgart this would be my Sunday daytime choice for beer and food.

An enjoyable stop just off the pedestrian area. It is located upstairs off the main street with a fairly large and open area. The food was average and the beers fair to good. The staff speaks a little English, but stumbles if you ask too much about the beers.

Placed on the first floor slightly off the main pedaestrian street. Entered shortly after opening being the first guests. Good service and we where given info about the beers when asked. Didnt try the food but we saw locals entern the place to eat while we sat there. Food seems to run a weekly schedule, monday was listed as schnitzel tag with 10 different schnitzels..

The service was very slow. This is a fairly typical brewpub located in the second floor. I don’t know what it is, but somehow i did not like the ambiance of this place.
