80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 rejtable (58) Ontario | April 2, 2013 Great spot, although a bit of a trek to get to. Went mid Sunday afternoon with my wife and kids. Sat in the back at first, but it was pretty dark and dingy back there, so we asked to be moved to the sunnier front which was much better. Be fine at the back at night. Food was fresh and well done. A dozen of their own beers on tap, had three and they were all great. Service was attentive. Nothing bad to say about it at all! | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 swoopjones (230) Buffalo, New York | January 24, 2013 good spot, drafts were pretty good, Big Man Ale was nice. Did not try food, but business seemed good so it must be pretty good. Was not here too long but i would go back again | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Boudicca (374) London, England | January 13, 2013 I’ve always liked the Cambridge Brewing Company. It makes good and interesting beer and the place has a great atmosphere. It’s a bit foody but then the food is very good too. I’ve eaten there several times – on my last visit with a party of colleagues and it was an ideal place for a fun evening after a hard day’s work.
There’s a long row of tables inside, with more at the back, and a sort of marquee / conservatory outside. If the music is too loud for conversation, you can always amuse yourself by identifying the famous characters (real and fictional) in the three big modern wall paintings.
My only criticism is that CBC may be in danger of becoming a victim of its own success. On the day of the pumpkin festival in 2012 we arrived around opening time and there was a queue perhaps half a mile long to get in. Bemused drivers kept stopping alongside to ask why we were all standing so patiently in line (and why so many people were in fancy dress). When after about an hour the line stopped moving we were still a good way from the entrance desk so, in the absence of any information being offered from the organisers, I went to ask what was happening. They’d reached capacity so it was one out, one in from then on. We didn’t stay, which was a pity because I’ve enjoyed the pumpkin festival before but not enough to warrant a couple of hours wait.
(Last visited 22 October 2012). | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 AirForceHops (77) Epping, New Hampshire | December 19, 2012 Stopped in on a Saturday (12/15/2012)before the dinner rush. Our appetizer and entrée’s were both well made and a bit above average. The menus selection is a bit thin but it appears what they offer is overall very good.
The bartender serving us was a relatively nice guy. He explained a few of the brews and his knowledge was great. I’m not going to talk about the décor because after all we are here for the beer. The beers in general are slightly above average and I can see myself stopping in here again in the near future. A decent place to stop for a burger and brew.
| 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 phaleslu (314) Cincinnati, Ohio | October 8, 2012 lushawn and his lady took my wife and I here on a rainy bike tour of Boston. This seems to be one of his go-to places. It’s tucked into a plaza in Cambridge; the patio looked cool but it was cold and rainy, so we sat inside at a table along the windows. The interior is wood-lined and high-ceilinged and pretty modern, with a mural on one wall. The selection was good for a brewpub, with about 10 things on tap ranging from the everyday stuff to a barrel-aged barley wine, sour ale, and session pumpkin ale. Beers were solid. Good variety. We got some food to snack on and it all seemed good. The prices are fair, with $2/glass for sampling and pint prices that seemed to be in line with other places in the area. Some bottles and pre-filled growlers were available for sale and prices on those were really good. Nice place overall and worth a visit if you’re in town. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 dlovell2 (8) Columbia, Maryland | September 26, 2012 Ate outside for lunch. Really nice courtyard. Checked out the inside, it looked nice with dark wood and brewing equipment. Nice selection of beer. Tried the Porter and the Pumpkin. Both were excellent. Food was decent. It looked like they started serving dinner before we left and some of those items looked excellent. Waiter was ok. He was knowledgable, could have been more attentive. Overall, I liked it and would go back. | 68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | September 9, 2012 Big kind of generic and modern place, with visible brewing equipment. Beer choice was small but interesting. Staff was very friendly | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 womencantsail (390) Garbage Grove, California | August 15, 2012 Was expecting a regular brewpub, but this is a really great restaurant that happens to brew. The beers are pretty good for the most part. Food was really good, prices were on par for the quality and the city of Boston/Cambridge. Good service as well. One of my favorite places that I visited in the Boston area. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 deyholla (200) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma | July 3, 2012 Visited for a meal as well as some beers. A nice space with outdoor seating, a nice bar and a bit of a dark wood feel. Our server was quite knowledgeable and had a good recommendations. A nice selection of regular and specialty beers all on tap. Food was solid but not outstanding. Prices were pretty competitive for Boston. I would definitely recommend visiting |
