A clean feeling brewpub right on the water in Canal Park. A nice feel to the place with large inside and huge patio which makes for great summer seating. Service was good considering the place appeared to be 2x capacity. Only had beers on the visit but bartenders were as quick as they could be. They appeared to have about 10 beers on tap and I did not notice if samplers were available. Prices seemed a bit high but you pay for location. A decent spot overall.
Visited with My dad after a day of
Work at the property.
I got a flight (2014/2015 barleywine, nut brown, black IPA) and DadLevar got a pint of pils. Beers were below mediocre to fine.
But the food...some of the best brewpub food ive had. Sweet potato fries were he best I’ve had. My burger was good, my dads Reuben was great. Top two I’ve had for sure. Huge chunks of carved corned beef. Fries withh buger were good too.
Overall, I’ll come back for the food with the hope that he beer catches up. A bit overpriced.
Decent place right in Canal Park. Large, corporate brewery feel to it after having just been to Bent Paddle. Beers were decent with several on tap and a couple in cask. Had a couple appetizers that were decent (cheese curds and wings). Large bar and lots of tables. Great location.
Wrapped up a long day of drinking beer here at this place, a stock suburban American brewpub restaurant in its glitzy location amongst what seems the "tourist corner" of Duluth. Perhaps because we had low expectations, we were pleasantly surprised. The beer list was longer than expected, and most of the few we sampled turned out being the best we’d tried in Duluth. We had an appetizer that met its objective. Next time in town, I’d start here. (Brewery #651)
In the more tourist park of Duluth near the beach and water. Inside looks like a run of the mill large resturant brewery. Sat outside, think I lost at least two menus to the wind. IPA and Maibock not on tap? Beer was just alright, food was ok. Better places for beer in the area really.
May 2014. There is still ice on the lake, so it is too cold for me to sit on the patio, as the temperature has dropped 25 degrees since leaving Minneapolis. Food was expensive. I had French onion soup, which was ok. They serve beer samplers, choose any four from about 10 different beers. Good location, nice views, so expect to pay a little more here. Staff was friendly but seemed rushed even though it was not very busy. Large selection for a brewpub.
Went during All Pints North, got two flights with a group to try all of their beers. Nothing was memorable, the IPA was alright, everything else was quite bad. Took forever to get a waitress once we got there. They need to have an actual beer menu, not cards that go missing. We hurried out to Fitgers.
Not really very good... Beer is (most importantly) quite below average, maybe even ’bad’. Didnt eat but word is food not that great either. More of a tourist trap than anything. Over priced. So why go? Really great location. Big open space. Friendly service (beer knowledge his and miss).
