Visiting from Australia, this place felt like Beer Heaven. Saw beers there I had no chance of ever finding down under. No doubt, locals would be less impressed. Highly recommended for international visitors.

What a strange store. In one corner, a wall of gimmick hot sauces. In another corner, sea-gull poop hats and t-shirts. In yet another corner, maybe more scotch and bourbon than Iíve ever seen in an independent liquor store. Crazy racks and bins of 50ml liquor minis (airplane bottles). And then a six foot tall by 12 foot wide wall of beer. Some obscure stuff and most of it is organized by country or region. Iíve gotten some good finds here like mags and 12ozers of Anchor Christmas from various years. There is a surprisingly wide variety of central/eastern European macro type stuff as well as examples from the rest of the world. As others have said, storage is an issue so Iíve made a point of digging out bottles from the back of the shelves. I also picked up a bunch of Alaskan Smoked Porter last trip. Later that day I went to Whole Foods and bought the same beer for $2 a bottle less.

Iíve never run into any staff there besides the folks behind the counter. This is mostly a place to buy tourist t-shirts and the like; however, if you have an SO not into beer s/he might at least be able to stay busy while you peruse the selection looking for a gem (like the Vapeur bottles I grabbed last go around).

all the rare bottles are kind of shelved into a big wall, and be careful because itís exposed to a lot of light. also itís kind of wierd that this place is more like a souvenier shop, but hey, youíre in fishermanís wharf! youíre either there because youíre a tourist or youíre there because your family friends are in town and being tourists. do go to fritz, though, there are only a few beers but cooler DJs and a ".be" kind of vibe (thatís belgium dot com).

Good place to come to for singles, the big problem being that many of the bottles have been around for a while. Eithre in their warehouse, or the shelves, never saw so many dusty bottles of beer

Not bad, this was a really good selection especially after coming from beer hell(Australia), but as someone else mentions they donít really specialise in anything, and there is not a lot of rare beers, especially when compared to other beer stores in the US.

A wide variety of beers from all over the world. Problems are: not a lot of depth in any one area, a lot of the beers that are available are poor (e.g., Corona and Pacifico represent Mexico), and worst, the beers are old. Many were a year or more past their enjoy by date.
