Visited this place last weekend. We sat outside in the back, which was pretty pleasant. I thought it left something to be desired. This concept should have worked really well for me. Everything about the concept speaks to me. It just isnít quite there as a place. We went for a late brunch/snack and a couple of beers, since brunch runs until 5:00 on Saturdays. The beer selection is good, but it is not super well organized, and the prices are really high, even for NYC. The draft list on my visit was fine, but not overly impressive. The food, I really wanted to love it, but it isnít quite there. The ham plate with the biscuit really disappointed me. It was basically supermarket prosciutto with the world smallest biscuit and some jam. The meat to bread ratio was way off. The lamb tartar was actually pretty tasty. Iíd recommend that one way over the ham plate. The beer list had some interesting stuff, but it didnít standout for me over other comparable places with much better prices and just as good food. Iím struggling to think of a place Iíve visited where I felt like I got less for my money, even in NYC. Iíll probably give it another shot, but I wonít rush back.

A great looking spot that I popped in to on my most recent visit to NYC. Located in a large space on 29th St, you walk in to a large cooler lined room fronting a smallish bar up front. There is a larger covered back patio area that had some chilled out music playing and several other rooms within the space with different atmospheres created in them. Some tasty charcuterie and a really lovely pretzel helped cut the hunger I was feeling while I was there. Friendly service and a pretty interesting beer list. You could do a whole lot worse than spend some time here.

since i donít eat meat, thereís a lot on the menu that iím not interested in. BUT though i donít eat meat, itís clear that theyíre serving quality in that dept., based on what i see on other peopleís plates and what they have to say about it. they usually have some unique items on tap, and a slew of great bottles. not cheap. but itís nyc. can be a bit crowded and noisy, but thatís a sign of their success. i definitely give points for the eddie merckx ref. and the indoor bike parking!

Finally got here for brief visit. I have been dying to come and will be back for food. Place is cool butchers op feel with awesome patio. They were playing 90ís rap which was odd. Bartender was super friendly and helpful. Great bottle list but unfortunately taps were down when I was there. Anyways pretty awesome.

This place is a must visit when in NYC. I only discovered it in the past year and wish I knew it sooner. Great look...and very attentive servers. This place has wall to wall coolers as you first enter...which is a great first impression. Then when you realize they are a "butcher" too...the possibilites start expanding exponentially. Make sure you have the peanuts and the hot dogs...and donít forget the half a pigís head. There is a great outside courtyard too. There should be no problem finding beers you like...only a place to sit (very popular). Some interesting movies on the TVís too.

Odd spot...combo butcher shop/bar/restaurant next to resto. Always has some very rare stuff on draft and bottled though youíll pay for it. Good meat/offal focused menu.

Close to the house / office so wind up there a fair amount. Service is hot and cold but always knowledgeable.
Small handle selections that always seems to be out of the best one. Awesome cooler selection and a cellar list.
Only had bar apps but larger plates look good. Love the idea (meat + beer) but always leaves me wanting more. If youíre in the neighborhood definitely check it out but if youíre staying elsewhere probably not worth the trip.

Went here for food mostly, but also to try some of the taps. Beers were mostly bottled.. to go stuff with self serve refrigerators in the front (similar to Good Beer NYC) as well as sit down selection. Small draft selection... about 8 taps. Unique brews though... at least 2 Iíve never seen before. Lamb sausage with chick pea chili was out of this world... little pricey but it has to be bc itís so small.

Stopped by here last night to meet up with some bros. Didnít try the food but it smelled delicious. Right as you walk in you are greeted by beer coolers on both sides with a solid selection. Surprised to see GI BCS still available here (seems like it sold out every where in nyc pretty quickly). They do bottles to go and they were reasonably priced. The drafts seemed to be a bit overpriced. Small cramped bar seating with a table or two in the back - so plan to sit at the bar - but still with very nice ambiance. Will definitley be making a trip back here to try the food.

Awesome beer list and the meat-focused menu is perfect for the proud-to-be-carnivore. the PAtes, tartares and sausages are all top notch.
