Very cool place. Old, musty, dusty and lots of wood create the setting of this "museum." Well it is a working museum of sorts, I suppose. It is really interesting to see the historic brewing equipment in its original setting. I am not a big fan of the lambic or geuze style but this is a must visit for any beer enthusiast. The staff was helpful and friendly. Good value for the tour and tastings as well I thought.

This one is self-explanatory; the good stories you’ve heard about this place are correct. You can pay 7 Euros for a self-guided tour which includes two tasters at the end. The tour itself takes as long as you wish it to take, after all it is self-guided! You are given a booklet which tells you all about the different facilities and processes in the brewery. The place is packing with character; top to bottom. The sit-in menu is unrivalled - Zwanze 2011, 2012 and 2014 were the big names along with 50N; Fou and the Lou Pepes The stuff they had for sale at the time of my visit was lacking; Gueuze, Fou Foune and LPK were all that was available. The place was very busy; as expected and thus it took a while to be served but who cares when Jean Van Roy is the one doing the serving? He was very eager and willing to discuss everything Cantillon with anyone who would ask!

Blimey, I’ve never reviewed this place although I’ve visted many times. A look round the brewey is, of course, very worthwhile - on the first visit at least. Nowadays i tend to just sit in the bar area and drink a couple of bottles (at very reasonable rpices). An idela way to spend a last couple of hours in belgium before catching a train, and only a few minutes walk from the station. One of the world’s unmissable beer destinations. But don’t necessarily expect to find the old and the rare, and certainly not to take away.

Visited my brother in Germany and we decided to make the journey to Brussels. Trip was even more memorable when we realized the GPS cord wasn’t charging the unit and it dies when we got into the city. It was worth the stress though and Cantillon delivered nicely. We went on a Tuesday and arrive at roughly 11 am. Not many people there, but got busy quickly. The self guided tour was pretty neat, but charging 7 euro was a bit much for two very small samples and no tour guide. It was cool in there and seeing the old equipment and reading about it was very interesting. Selection of beers was pretty good and they had plenty of Fou to purchase and the Lou Pepe Kriek. Also sell coasters, posters, and glasses. Staff was very helpful and friendly for being so busy by the time we were ready to purchase stuff and have some drinks (a bus of students had just arrived). We even told them how our GPS died and the woman went and printed us out a map and showed us exactly where to go to get out and back on the highway. It was worthwhile and fun and I’ll probably never make it over that way again so I’m happy I got to go and experience the brewery.

Come on, we talk about Cantillon!!!! Great ambiance, original equipment used for many generations, and a tour really enlightening in the whole lambic process, be it brewing, cellaring, blending. Selection was very nice at the time we visited, Great value for money ratio!! I mean, it’s Cantillon!!

Of course this place is highly reated: it’s Cantillon! And because of this fact alone people will adore it. Add to this that you an find ’cheap’ and rare bottles, and the superhigh rating is easy defended. However, look at it more rationally and it’s for from perfect. We visited (admittedly probably on the busiest moment) in a place loaded with tourists and everybody tried to get service first. The tour isn’t a tour but they still change 7 euro for the booklet (incl 4 euro worth of two tasters). Beers for same were limited to their 7 most common - you have to be lucky to get a rare bottle. Again, I don’t mind so much, but far from perfect. Staff was very friendly but way too busy for their own good. It’s a pilgrimage, but don’t expect to find the pot of gold and take your time.

Obviously a must stop. Tour is mostly self-guided and costs 7 Euros (included 3 samples this day). They said it basically hasn’t changed since 1900. Nice brochure furnished. On a Saturday afternoon it was quite busy. Bottles for sale were dirt cheap. Amazing.

This is simply a fantastic place. We visited twice, first on Zwanze Saturday and then Monday morning to take the tour. To see the old equipment and the barrels is really great. The beers available varies but they are all really cheap. A must visit!
