Unparalleled brewery tour where you can view the ancient brewing equipment, see the cobwebs, smell the damp aromas, see the aged straw-colored hops and see the four legged mouse traps as well as the brewers’ history in photographs up on the wall. Not to mention the beverages are amazing.

C’est bon. Really not much more to say, but let’s do it more seriously: The place is located a half hour walk away from Grand Place and close to gare de midi. When you get in there, you see the tasting room which was packed with lots of Americans when I was there. We had booked a guided tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and did not leave many questions to be asked afterwards - his explanations were perfect. Afterwards, you can try different beers (some rarities like the Zwanzes, the pineau d’aunis and 50°N 4°E to drink at the premises for great prices: mostly 14 Euros for the rare 75cl bottles) and if you’re lucky, there’s plenty of stuff you can take with you (there is a limit of 5 boxes per person, but that’s reasonable). The prices for taking bottles with you are fair. The people at the place are lovely and passionate. Overall, this was a nicer experience than I had hoped for, and I’d already had high expectations. I’m definitely coming back.

Awesome brewery/museum. Very nice guided tour with beers to taste afterwards. The selection isn’t huge, but rather rare (exclusively to be correct). The quality of the beers they have, is out of discussion as is the personal. Worth visiting. (You might want to eat before you go there.)

Stumble through the skanky backstreets of Bxl Zuid/Midi, jumping over various debris and litter, by its modest entry gate into this tiny Old World oasis of curated negligence that makes the metropolitan stopwatch come to a sudden, funky halt. Restricted seating guarantees those who find one of few stools or tables a privileged vantage point around the wood-fired stove to observe & admire: the tourist buses sluiced in with the at times shocked & disgusted faces of forced first-time sour sippers; agitated collectionneurs negotiating limited take-home pricey fare at the tiny shop desk; transatlantic shipments being shrinkwrapped at the gate; families and strangers alike sharing on-the-premise-only bottles; the house équipe having a bread lunch, comparing vintages and exchanging bottles. This is not only a Brewery/Museum, it’s an original warm & coyly cobwebbed Bxl biotope and microclimate surviving in defiance of the faceless Eurocratic regulations oozing forth over an increasingly pasteurised macro-version of Europe from the antiseptic burroughs only few kilometres up the road.

Awesome place! The tour itself is pretty nice and gives you some time to soak up the atmosphere. The bottle list is impressive and not too pricey. Having a few bottles in the bar is just pure bliss!

Interesting museum with mostly proper old school equipment. Presentation was rather robotic lacking some enthusiasm considering the history of the place. Yet service was good. Selection is good too and the prices are fair.

For every beergeek, this is the most important place to visit when you’re in Brussels. Friendly people, who have a real passion for their lambics. Atmosphere is amazing in this cozy place. TO EVERYONE VISITING CANTILLON, give me a heads up, I’d love to trade/share some bottles! (Beer availabilty for take away last edited: 17th of Januar 2015 --- For take away: Gueuze, Kriek, Rosé de Gambrinus, Lou Pepe Gueuze, St. Lamvinus and Magnums of the regular Gueuze; To drink on the premises you also had the Gueuze, Kriek, Rosé de Gambrinus, Lambic (10 months old), Faro, Fou’foune, Pineau d’Aunis, Zwanze 12-14, 50N4E and Mamouche)

Sittin on a chair next to the fireplace, reading a book with a Florian on hand... Mmmm. It actually sometimes feels like going back to brewing past and being in a movie: from the café’s point of view one sees carts of ’draf’ go by, pushed by Jean into the cow farmers truck, wort aromas filling the air, Cantillon employees doing their job, tourists coming and going... Each moment mesmerisingly paused with a sip. Love this place! Lovely people! :)

This was easy to reach just a couple blocks off the Gare du Midi metro stop down into a residential area. The building is nondescript and the interior is functioning brewery, tasting room, bottle shop. I quickly walked through the building on my self-guided and self-paced tour and arrived back at the bar to accept my pours. First up was Oude Lambik - damn! I savored my pours and then sat down at a table with some new found friends and shared my Pinot D’Aunis with them and gladly sampled their Fou Foune, Mamouche, and Cuvee Florian. Overall a nice visit and must stop for Lambic lovers.

Great place, superfriendly people, well worth the short walk from the centre. Very close to Train Station. Must-visit when in Ghent, even if you don’t like sours. The tour is so much value. To anyone visiting: If you’re up for an IP Trade, contact me. I’m always intrested!
