Stopped in while Capital Brewing was hosting an event. Quite a crowd, but everything was running smoothly. No food available except for sliders being cooked on a grill. Selection was decent, prices were decent, and service was good. Everyone was having a good time. The beer garden was a great place to have a beer. Worth a visit while in Madison.

We spent a July 4th evening here in the beer garden and really enjoyed it. Nice, comfortable, Germany-like setting with communal tables, above average-to-very good beer, and a couple good options for food off the grill. Even a semi-passable band that played some really bad covers, and friendly parents chasing their kids around. An All-American setting. What else could you want? (Brewery #611)

You should of course go on the tour if you live in town, but donít expect to be wowed. They donít even have their own bottling line! You get a sample of all the current beers at the end of the tour, which will make it clear to you how similar they all taste. After the tour go over to the mustard museum and top off the evening at the Hubbard Ave diner and you never have to come back to Middleton again.

Always have a decent selection of their brews - regular, seasonal, and special releases. Outside area is nice when the weather is nice. Bier Stube is a bit small, but manageable. Stube looks into the brewery. Nice gift shop. Beers have been seemingly going up in price. Tours are hit or miss depending on whoís giving it. Have enjoyed numerous Bockfests here!

We missed he last tour of the day, but the bar was a fun place on a Saturday afternoon. The two bartenders were really great, offered several samples to our group, and gave us the history of the brewery. If it werenít for the private party coming in at 5:00pm, they would have taken all 12 of us on a private tour, maybe next time. The selection of brews was very good, my favorite was the doppelbock. No food to speak of, but a good time all around. Worth the trip.

A good tour with three samplings along the way in a small tasting glass which you could keep. The beer garden prices were a bit high for tappers I thought considering it was the brewery, but overall a good experience and well worth it.

I visited this place in the middle of a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. I didnít stay around for the tour, but did grab a beer. A good selection of brews here, but unfortunately no sampler. Older vintages of a couple of their beers are available for purchase at the gift shop as well. A nice and clean facility, even though itís much smaller than I had imagined.

Iíve gone to the biergarten at Capital Brewery each of the last three years to hang out for awhile before catching the bus to the Great Taste of the Midwest. And it is a cool place! Milwaukee, Madison, and Minneapolis have short summers and yet more outdoor seating at bars and restaurants than any other towns I know. And this is a nice patio in a nice part of Madison and when the sun is shining, being here can be a great experience. Now, only if they had some interesting beer. During my last visit, they had two pretty boring ambers, two lagers, and one dark lager. The dark lager was probably the most exotic beer offered. This is OK I guess, but it is hardly the stuff to interest the GTOTMW audience (i.e. me) who gathers here to catch the bus each August to the fest. In short, ambiance is tough to beat, but selection, and the beer savvy-ness of the people behind the bar could use some improvement.

Visited the brewery for the 1st time on my 24th birthday. As soon as we opened the door we could smell the malty smell of beer brewing. As we waited for the tour to start we had a beer in the Garten. I tried the supper club lager, which was enjoyable but nothing to write home about. The tour was fun, and our guide was an employee of 10 years so he knew his stuff. We got to try 4 beers throughout the tour, of which the hop bock was my favorite. The gift shop prices were considerably lower than other breweries Iíve been to.
