I went here yesterday, and was in beer heaven for over half an hour. Matt stocks an amazing array of micros from all over the world, with the state of California nicely represented as well. I picked up a smattering of barleywines, Impy IPAs, and a lot of California offerings. You will easily find several dozen great beers here that you haven’t had. I plan on making bi-weekly trips. Matt was very helpful, accommodating, and knowledgable about beer. Quite simply, Matt stocks beers that you won’t find anywhere else in PA or the Northeast ( I never have) and has the knowledge to know what he is doing, which is awesome when you think about it. Food is great, and now with 32 gtaps, the tap list here is as good as any you will EVER find. Matt keeps improving, and this place keeps packing them in so tight on event days that it’s hard to move.

What a great place. I stopped in today for the first time and I am so disappointed I waited this long to do so. What a selection - tons of Bell’s, Lost Abbey, Three Floyds, Troeg’s Scratch beers, etc, etc - stuff you don’t find at most bottle shops. Matt was working when I stopped in and he was kind enough to hook me up with a little freebie. Very nice guy. He deserves all the praise he gets here - best bottle shop I’ve been to. (Didn’t have time to stop for a draft or food but I’ll be back)

Great hidden craft beer bar!! Matt is a really nice guy. Anything you need, he either has it or will get it. Went to a couple tastings, met a couple brewery guys. He has small tastings in the takeout area. Met the Miller Lite sales guy doing a tasting for one of the craft brands Miller carries, Leinenkugel’s Sunset Wheat. It was alright. Overall a real great experience at Capone’s! I’ll be back.

Bee-sting wings and your choice of craft beers! I have taken the 2 hour drive down there on a Monday night to drink some good brews with my good friend and chow down on the Bee-sting wings. If in the area, and you love beer and wings, gotta hit it up. Follow-up (Feb. 27, 2010): Was there for a Pliny Younger/Elder tasting. Was very thankful to have experienced both side by side. This place is one of the greatest beer centered bars I have ever been to, and it keeps finding ways to be even better.

One of the best beer bars/bottle shops I have ever been too. The service is friendly, and Matt is very knowledgable and helpful. All of the food is great too. A must stop for anyone going through the Philly area!

I always thought I should not rate Capone’s but I think I am objective enough for this to be fair. I have been going to Capone’s for over 4 years now. The staff and owners have treated me like an extended family member. Matt is the reason for the amazing selection of beer. He can talk beer and many other things all day. He is just a great and honorable guy. The food is very nice for bar (not gastro pub) which is what I pefer honestly. The junior roast pork with the italian hot peppers is awesome, as well as the chicken cheesesteak (sauce on the side). You are crazy if you don’t go to Capone’s.

Capones is one of the best places to get beer, period. The range of beers is outstanding, including some of the rarest beers as well as a great vintage selection. Prices are fair, the staff is great and if you get on their email list they send out updates of new products coming in. Love it.

Matt Capone is a true publican, he like Scoats of Grey Lodge will go out of his way to find sought after beers for people, and his goal is to keep his customers happy at all costs. In terms of ambiance/atmosphere, the best thing about Capone’s is the polarity of the two types of regulars: beer geeks sitting side by side with the old-head locals, and all of the intermingling and ’craic’ to be had. I found eating in the restaurant dining rooms to be a particularly charming experience; the lighting is sexy, the food presentation is classy and the room is nicely decorated especially the colored tiles. Plus it is clean. The food menu is all over the place; some choices unremarkable and others are far-reaching, but what you get can be spectacular (like the crab legs and the chilean sea bass dinner specials Yummy!), plus there are some creative side dish ideas. I like the smaller portion sizes and I’m optimistic about the menu ironing out its quirks and finding a streamlined place among the high e

Damn, this place is amazing!!! Went today with my girlfriend, was originally going to meet up with Hopdog, but he couldn’t make it. Great super curtious staff and damn a draft list that is tight and freaking amazing. There was a big group at the other side of the bar being loud and the staff kept making sure we were allright which was cool. Good burger, good mozzarela sticks, GREAT bottle shop, a little pricey on the bottle side, but the selection is impeccable. AWESOME!
