Huge selection from this bar in two stores. Many norwegian microbrews on taps. A very descriptive beer menu card. As elsewhere in Norway prices are exceptionally high but compared to shopprices the levt is absolutely fair.
Can be rather crowded. Nice and comfortable in the afternoons.

Cardinal is one of the top two bars in the country, easily offering the best bottle selection. According to one of the bartenders, 529 different beers all together. All these are not always in stock. Out of the twentytwo taps, unfortunately almost half are macros. The excellent menu book describing their beers lists 50 IPA’s and nearly 25 stouts. The prices are quite high, even by Norwegian standards.

The largest selection of beers in Norway by far. Loads on bottle and 15+ on tap including cask.
The staff could know more about the beers thay serve. However, it must be a grand task to keep track on over 500 beers.
The bar must get kudos for holding several different gatherings for beer interested people. Onsdag i annen and Strikk og drikk.
The bar also offer a wide selection of spirits.
Biggest drawback is the prices in this bar.

This place has the best selection available in Stavanger, possibly in Norway. Lots of weird stuff. Served a barley wine which had passed it’s due date a year ago, but props for trying - some beers do get better with age :) Steep prices, but I guess its neccesary with the selection. Good place.
Other downside: the age limit, 25, which they keep quite strictly. I was not allowed in at 2200h on a friday, with both my parents, at the age of 23. Ridiculous.

Extremely many beers and a very nice amount of IPAs! Though the experation date was exipired long ago on 2/5 bottles bought. Also a bit Pricy, but thats understandable with that variation. Great place! I will revisit!

Beer heaven! Beer in every corner. Nice staff, but surprisingly they didnt know as much as I expected them to about beer. Still, the best place in Norway for experiencing beer. Warning: "norwegian" (oil)-prices :)

Easily the best beer pub in Norway. The only real disadvantage to it is that it doesn’t serve food. The ambience is great, like a real English local pub. The music is usually good, and never too loud. And the selection is the best in the country, and has been for at least a decade. I’ve spent many happy evenings here, and don’t think I’ve ever had a beer anywhere else in the city. I’m perfectly content that this should be so.
