Bright, clean, and open. Actually ran in to some sunshine on a Friday with seating out on the patio. Almost overwhelming. Really, every sort of strange and sour including the non-sour stuff that seems to be as hard as anything to find. Prices are very good, considering what I usually pay for sour stuff this is heaven. Everything available as a $2 sample and a very welcoming staff that doesn’t treat me like an asshole for ordering 4 of them at a time. Food was excellent and very well priced. Dork fat? A mixture of pork and duck fat! Live barrels: means that you drink right from the wood. Plan on either A. Spending a lot of time one afternoon, or B. Make several trips in. A new happy place for damn certain.

Can’t say much about peak hours, but the beer was fantastic even at 1am and the barkeep was friendlier than hell

they don’t say house of sours for nothing this place is a sour beer drinkers dream come true with something like 12-14 sours on tap wow i got to try apple pie,the vine sang rouge 09 and a lemon honey quad wow also got a sneek peek at burbonic plague called pre burbonic git out of town sevice was good people were friendly

Just a few words here this is MUST Stop. They have something special going on here Great service great beers and the food is pretty tasty also. The tour will make you a fan for life.

One of the best beer destinations I have ever been to. If you love fruit sours this is a must see destination. The wife and I spent $180 here on the first night and had to go back the next day. Be prepared to spend money but its worth it.

Fantastic selection of sours, fruit beers and Belgians on tap and available in $2 taster glasses. The service is top notch and the atmosphere ideal for meeting up with friends. Easily one of the top craft beer destinations in PDX and within walking distance to Hair of the Dog.

Great sour, funky beers. Tried quite a few, and all were very nice. Went on a Sunday morning, and were the only people there. Great service, and extremely knowledgeable about all of the beers, which is always a plus. I would definitely recommend Cascade Brewing Barrel House if you are into funky sour/tart beers.

This place is so cool - even when it’s hot outside - which isn’t all that often. Sit in or sit out. Gaze agog at the barrels with taps. Be amazed at all the high quality ales available. Speak with staff who actually understand the product. Quaff responsibly if you don’t have a designated driver. It’s very much a local - but one which seems to have a high visitation rate from afar. At least when OBF is in the offing!

Made a fairly quick stop here while on vacation. I sampled all there beers on tap! quite a few beers. Let’s just say this is sour paradise. Most of there sours lean toward a raw farmhouse feel. Big lemon flavors in many of them. Awesome joint. I will always stop here when I am in Portland.

I am absolutely crazy about sour beer. If you are too you NEED to go here. If you get the opportunity, go to "Tap it Tuesday". They line the bar with plastic and tap a barrel over the bar. Sometimes it goes EVERYWHERE.
