More bar/cafe than pub in terms of both decoration and atmosphere. Beer choice is very wide, particularly the bottles and kegged products, although the latter are on the expensive side. Service was efficient and friendly and cask ales were in good condition. Worth a visit.

Great beer selection and helpful service, and while itís pricey you do pretty much get what you pay for. The ales were OK but not in superb nick when we visited. The Sunday roasts could have been better - the beef & chicken were great, but the Yorkshire puds were flat and the roast veg more limp than crispy. Hopefully it was just a temporary problem with the oven. I rather liked the layout, but yes it is stuck somewhere in between a pub and a bar, and thereís also no baby-changing facilities.

This place is the paradigm of what a craft beer bar should be. With 10 casks and a few more taps, rare bottles from all over and a solid food menu with plenty of less traditional items, this placer simply has it all. The seating is flexible and comfortable and there is no pretension to speak of, just quality. I went during a Mikkeller night and there were plenty of ratebeerians from all over to drink with. They even had Brew Dog AB-04, which was nothing short of epic. There is nothing bad to say about this place. It was just a stellar evening of drinking our faces off.

Visited here on Saturday 13th November 2010 with Loz. I thoroughly enjoyed this place form the very decent cask selection through to the incredible bottled beer range and then onto the very friendly staff. We had a couple in here, a great Dark Star Green Hopped IPA and the Moor Illusion along with Crouch Vale Wild Hop and Brouwerij Ijí Zatte all in great nick. The bottled beer selection was very impressive, however the prices were not so , the £29 for a Westy 12 (YIKES!) but hey-ho the cask and Keg stuff would offer more than enough choice for the average punter with just an occasional splurge on some fancy bottle maybe. Huge Mikkeller selection was very tempting. The staff were very friendly particularly Joachim a young Swedish guy who offered me a number of different tasters, he came and chatted to me and Loz for a while and was such a lovely chap, really enthusiastic and keen to learn more. I think this is more of a bar than a pub, but itís got a nice feel about it and I will definately come here again at some point in the near future.

My go-to pub in London. Partly because itís within walking distance from Victoria, my coach stop & partly because of the fantastic selection. The cask range is reasonably priced, though I donít think I saw anything below £5 on the bottled list last time I visited. (I shall probably have to adjust these comments after my next visit as itís reported theyíve dropped their prices.) I have had no problem with service or with condition and the atmosphere is amiable. All in all, as others have said, itís certainly a worthwhile stop for an hour or two. Sure, it may be a bit ítrendyí and not a ípubí in the traditional sense but when the beerís as good as it is, Iím not one to be bothered by the architecture.

One of my favorite London pubs. The tap/cask selection is great. The best beer Iíve had herewas the BrewDog I Hardcore You. Awesome. There is a huge bottle list but these beers tend to be on the pricey side. The draught stuff is reasonably priced, though. The food looks good and is also a bit pricey; I havenít had any. A very clean, sleek bar with lots of tables inside and a few out. Overall a great place to get some good beers.

Cafe style modern place in a location lacking atmosphere. Expensive food and beer. Commending this place are the friendliness of the people running it, and the beer selection. However, as the prices are unreasonable, the area is just out of the way, and is not attractive, and the pub itself lacks character (though the owners try their best with a cool green paint job and scatter cushions), this is not a place I would likely find myself returning to. I found little pleasure in being here - though thatís a personal choice, and others would like it well enough. My priority in a pub is not and never has been the amount of beers a place sells - ambiance, atmosphere, location, social/historical associations, architecture, etc, matter to me - if a pub has a great ambiance and sells one decent quality cask beer, I am very happy. If a pub has doesnít match any of the qualities I want, but sells 10, 100, 1,000 beers, it doesnít matter to me. Bigger, higher, faster, has never attracted me. I like soul.

A 5 or 6 minute walk from Victoria Station leads you to this pleasant pub. Itís all about the beer here - a very good selction of revolving cask beers and an as good a selection of bottled beers as you will find anywhere in the country I believe!
Service is good but can slow considerably when they get mobbed - I really think they could do with some more space behind the bar and a larger serving area.
The big drawback here is prices - of the bottled stuff. The prices start expensive and rapidly go stratospheric for rare stuff like Westvleteren or Lost Abbey. So if you are seeking out hard to find beers this is the place to come but be prepared to lash out. Beer is the new wine and you will find the pricing is similar to very fine wines!
Inside is reasonably airy and there are plenty of tables. Itís a pleasant place to meet up and share some well kept cask beers. There is a reasonable amount of space outside on the street for smokers to do their thing.
2012 Update. Bottle prices have come down a bit from their very high levels. Still expensive though but an improvement.

I would love to have a corner pub like this. They had a nice selection of casks and a big book of bottles. The bottle list had some pretty pricey things in it, but as long as you stick to whatís on tap it works out to be quite affordable. The atmosphere was kind of homey with light green walls and pillows lining the benches. Then around the bar were pump handles from various beers that they had had on. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. I only wish the kitchen had been open because I would have really loved to try the food.
