Great traditional pub - smallish indoor seating area and great outdoor terrace overlooking the castle (also a dining room upstairs that I didn’t visit). 6 Real ale taps rotating local and UK beers. All 6 were well cared-for and tasty when I visited. Food was surprisingly good. I was in Inverness for 3 days and managed to visit here 4 times, as it is quite convenient and, well, I couldn’t come up with a hugely compelling reason to go elsewhere (though I would have made it to Blackfriars, but they’re closed Sundays). Will return.

Fantastic little pub just behind Inverness Castle, shock horror. Staff are knowledgeable and attentive, and the selection was good, and seemingly well kept when it came to the cask conditioned ales. The outdoor seating is delightful, as is the inside bar. A wonderful place that would be my local if I lived in Inverness.

Nicely set pub with some outdoor places. Usually several cask beers on with friendly staff. Food is pretty spot on for an acceptable price. Overall good place to put your feet up in the afternoon or a bit of a craig during the evening.

Cracking pub just out of the centre of town by the castle (unsurprisingly). Nice and relaxed with a good range of local beers all kept extremely well on our visits. Terrific service at all times, they even went out of their way to help us watch the Cricket with England in the semi final against South Africa. The best food we had during our stay too. Simply our favourite pub in the area, particularly on the patio area at the front.

Visited in April ’09 whilst staying at the hostel just up the hill.
4 or 5 cask beers all Scottish micros all in good condition.
We drank here on a Saturday around 5pm and the place was lively in terms of trade.
We managed to bag a table on the patio area outside.
Service was decent, nice little boozer, reccomended.

A small, traditional, well-kept Scottish pub located near Inverness "castle". Inside is cosy and usually rather busy. Outside there is a pleasant patio area. They have 6 casks on offer from a variety of Scottish breweries, both large and small, a highlight being those from Cromarty. Most of the beers were bitters however, I would have like to have seen a dark beer or two! They also do 3x third pints for the same price as a pint, which is good for a ticker! Service was friendly and prices decent. I definitely would frequent this place if I lived in Inverness.
