80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 alagnak (51) Littleton, Colorado | August 3, 2011 Great traditional pub - smallish indoor seating area and great outdoor terrace overlooking the castle (also a dining room upstairs that I didn’t visit). 6 Real ale taps rotating local and UK beers. All 6 were well cared-for and tasty when I visited. Food was surprisingly good. I was in Inverness for 3 days and managed to visit here 4 times, as it is quite convenient and, well, I couldn’t come up with a hugely compelling reason to go elsewhere (though I would have made it to Blackfriars, but they’re closed Sundays). Will return. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Theydon_Bois (372) The ’Sham, England | March 16, 2013 Visited in April ’09 whilst staying at the hostel just up the hill.
4 or 5 cask beers all Scottish micros all in good condition.
We drank here on a Saturday around 5pm and the place was lively in terms of trade.
We managed to bag a table on the patio area outside.
Service was decent, nice little boozer, reccomended. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Scopey (271) Croydon, England | August 29, 2012 A small, traditional, well-kept Scottish pub located near Inverness "castle". Inside is cosy and usually rather busy. Outside there is a pleasant patio area. They have 6 casks on offer from a variety of Scottish breweries, both large and small, a highlight being those from Cromarty. Most of the beers were bitters however, I would have like to have seen a dark beer or two! They also do 3x third pints for the same price as a pint, which is good for a ticker! Service was friendly and prices decent. I definitely would frequent this place if I lived in Inverness. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 rosenbergh (334) Helsinki, Finland | March 2, 2012 Cozy relaxed atmosphere. 4 casks. Some taps. Excellent location. Nice view from the patio. Nice place. Best in Inverness (The Blackfriars was closed on Sun night). | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 JohnRMurdoch (243) Glasgow, Scotland | April 12, 2010| Updated October 12, 2010 Picturesque small traditional Scottish pub with outdoor tables overlooking castle and river.
