First of all, letís get something straight, Cave Mountain is located in a little town of 1000 souls that exists to service the people visiting the ski resorts and the golf courses in the area. So this is not a local town pub, 99% of the customers are skiers and golfers. Not exactly a beer-geek place. Family friendly. Small-medium size, sits close to 100 in two sections. Unfortunately no patio at all. Given their clientele they carry the mandatory macro bottles but they had a surprisingly large beer selection of their own beers with 6 regular and 5 seasonal, thatís 11 house-beers! The regulars are all generic basic beers (blonde, brown ale, etc.) and a few of the seasonal were actually quite good and even adventurous. A few very boring beer but no bad beer, if anything their beers are a bit too clean and polished. This pub is really quite a drive from everywhere but it surely worth a stop if like us you were driving through the area. A beautiful area if you like mountains.

For there not being too many good bars in the area of Hunter and Windham this was a great find. I went on a Saturday night with a group of friends after a day of hard skiing and we had a nice time. The bar was crowded and every seat taken. It took about 45 minutes for our group of 7 to get a table. The food was very good, burgers, sandwiches and steaks...The beer was also very good. I had an IPA, Honey Brown and a Irish Red. For a small brewpub the beer was extreamly good. They had a good selection of about 6 beers with an additional 4 rotating seasonals/specilties.

A quaint old building . This basic rectangle of space was well laid out and packed this cold ski weekend. A large bar and a frenzied open kitchen area added to the Olympic frenzy going on on the big screen TVís. For such a small volume brewing operation their selection was quite diverse. Plenty of wait staff, even though squeaky had to be broken away from her girlfriends chatter by holding my empty glass up to catch her spacey eye. Hope you are a Syracuse fan, for the paint is very orange. I will return, even though its around the thing and thing and stuff to get there. Nice beer can collection in the rest room.

After tasting a few of their beers at TAPNY I was quite sad to lose my tasting notebook and thus notes on their beers, so I decided to take a trip up and visit. And... Iíll certainly be back. Prices were reasonable on food, and a steal on beer. $6 for 6 generous pours for their sampler is amazing. With 12 of their own beers on tap I ended up doing two samplers to be able to try them all. Didnít have a single bad beer in the bunch, though some were not amazing, but still... a brewpub with all decent beers is a standout on its own. That they were good to boot? Excellent. Nice decor, cool collection of old cans adorn the restrooms. Friendly staff, and the kitchen is out where you can watch your food be cooked. Wish they were down the street instead of 1.5 hours away.

A cool little brewer-operated brewpub with a twelve faucet draft tower of all local craft beers and those they make in-house. Blonde Ale, Irish Red, English Brown, IPA, Oatmeal Stout, and Hefeweizen to name a few. Sturdy comfort-food menu with wraps, burgers, and appetizers. The kitchen is behind the bar and the food is prepared right in front of you. From anywhere in the place you can see the brewing equipment, the big flatscreen tv, the beers being poured, the open kitchen, and the knowledgable and friendly staff. Itís a small place with about 40 seats and a great pub feel with friendly staff. Say hello to Tim and Amber, Tim is the brewer/owner/cook and his wife Amber is the bartender and resident beer geek. The sampler is only $6 for six beers!!!!
