They do not have a kitchen here but they do allow you to bring food in from the outside. That doesnít matter because the beer here is top notch! The brewer has some exceptional skill at his craft. The tasting room was cozy but we didnít come in at a peak hour. The bartenders were friendly and helpful and I like all the beer. Really have to put this on your list if you are visiting SF.

The first time I tried Cellarmaker late in 2013, I wasnít impressed. Wow - was I wrong. Have visited many times since while staying in (near) the neighborhood for work. These guys are making some of the cleanest, tastiest beers in the city. Iím trying to think of one that Iíve had in the last 3-4 months that hasnít been spot-on and I canít. Food is limited to chips and jerky, but you can bring in whatever you want. Not sure you need food with the quality of the beers. As noted - itís up the short street (Rausch) from City Beer. Closed Mondays (that one bit me more than once). An absolute MUST if in SF.

Visited on a Wednesday and Thursday evening on a recent trip to San Francisco. Located around the corner from City Beer, this is an easy place to find. The interior features a clean design with bar tables, high top tables and a nice open feel. When I visited there were 8 beers on, and were available as pints, half pints and tasters. Service was excellent - very responsive and knowledgeable. All of the beers I had were well above average. Only food available was Jerky. I had a great visit here. Certainly a place to hit when in San Francisco.
88 = ★★★★ (best in area, a must for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.

A nice modern brewpub located quite centrally and only a few blocks away from City Beer Store. During my visit they had 9 top notch and tasty beers available, 5oz samples were around $2-3 so a bit pricey. Will definitely visit these guys again the next time Iím around. A promising start.

Cellarmaker is located on Howard Street in downtown San Francisco, a couple blocks from City Beer. Metered parking is available in the surrounding area, but is probably tough to get at certain times of day.
The interior opens to a high-ceilinged room with a wraparound wooden bar in the rear that has hanging lights above it, and high top tables in the rest of the space. Large windows in front let in a lot of light. Brewing equipment is visible in the far back behind glass. There is a large board on the far wall listing the available beers.
As for the beers, there are 9-10 on tap, and they offer a sampler. On my visit this included Motueka Madness, Mandarina Blonde, Crazy Eyez Kiwi, Admiration IPA, Dank Statement IIPA, Coffee & Cigarettes, Batch 1 Porter and Quiet Echo APA. All of the beers were above average, with a couple standouts.
Service on a busy late weekday afternoon at the bar was good. The bartenders were knowledgeable about their beers and attentive throughout my visit.
Cellarmaker does not serve food.
Overall this is a nice beer spot with a solid beer selection and is a worthwhile stop on any San Fran beer tour.

Fantastic beers and great place to hang out. Somewhat small with a few solid options. Definitely worth the trip of walking around the block from City Beer. Love this place. A must-stop for all SF visitors.

Visted on a Sunday afternoon during SF Beer Week 2014.
This is a fairly small place with a nice decor. The beers were tasty and the service friendly.
This place is very close to City Beer. A place to visit if nearby.

Stopped in here after City Beer Store since it is right around the corner. I had heard great things from the guys at TH so I was really looking forward to checking this place out. Atmosphere was quite good. Stopped in just after they opened and there was already plenty of people around the bar area and at the tables. Service was great. Bartenders were awesome, we never had to wait more than a minute or two for a new beer. Quality was top notch across the board. Selection was great. 10 beers on, two kicked, and one leftover cask from the night before. My favorite was Jezebel and the cask, both of which were awesome. No food so no rating there. Prices were a little high for my tastes, we were only getting the 5oz pours and some were $4 a piece. It was almost $30 to try them all. Overall an awesome brewpub in the heart of the city. I would be a regular here if I lived in the area.
