Visited during the SF beer week twice (February 2015) - Cool modern place on downtown. Good atmosphere but really noisy. Twice I got a headache about the noise. Service is fine and people are ok. Clean place with good beer selection from the brewery.

Just a block or two from City Beer, this is an attractive bar sporting a dozen taps of a wide range of brews. Most of the beers are of high quality and are served in 5oz or full pours. There are about a dozen stools at the bar and table seating for about 20 more folks. This place gets busy most of the time.

If youíre a hophead, this is a must-stop in San Fran. Itís a cozy little place with great service and great beer. They donít serve food, but they do serve snacks, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. They have other options besides APAs and IPAs as well, but their hoppy stuff is what got me hooked. Itís also right around the corner from City Beer Store, so you can hit up both spots in one session. Iím looking forward to seeing these guys grow and prosper.

Honestly my favourite brewery tap in the world. Amazing brews. It says a lot that when visiting a fabulous beer city such as SF, all I ever want to do is drink here.
All their own brews on tap, but still big points for selection, given the breadth of choice. These guys have been open only a year and have had 70+ beers on tap. Iíve never had a bad one. Their pale ales, IPAs and bigger hop-forward beers are some of the best around. So fresh too given the brewhouse out back. Their darker stuff is ace, as are their European styles (saison, English bitter, etc.).
Cool vibe, always buzzing, friendly and prompt service, great value. Why go anywhere else?

They do not have a kitchen here but they do allow you to bring food in from the outside. That doesnít matter because the beer here is top notch! The brewer has some exceptional skill at his craft. The tasting room was cozy but we didnít come in at a peak hour. The bartenders were friendly and helpful and I like all the beer. Really have to put this on your list if you are visiting SF.

The first time I tried Cellarmaker late in 2013, I wasnít impressed. Wow - was I wrong. Have visited many times since while staying in (near) the neighborhood for work. These guys are making some of the cleanest, tastiest beers in the city. Iím trying to think of one that Iíve had in the last 3-4 months that hasnít been spot-on and I canít. Food is limited to chips and jerky, but you can bring in whatever you want. Not sure you need food with the quality of the beers. As noted - itís up the short street (Rausch) from City Beer. Closed Mondays (that one bit me more than once). An absolute MUST if in SF.

Visited on a Wednesday and Thursday evening on a recent trip to San Francisco. Located around the corner from City Beer, this is an easy place to find. The interior features a clean design with bar tables, high top tables and a nice open feel. When I visited there were 8 beers on, and were available as pints, half pints and tasters. Service was excellent - very responsive and knowledgeable. All of the beers I had were well above average. Only food available was Jerky. I had a great visit here. Certainly a place to hit when in San Francisco.
88 = ★★★★ (best in area, a must for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
