A nice restaurant located conveniently in downtown Calgary with a few taps, mostly local, and a few more bottled beers. The food is superb and reasonably priced. Service is prompt and attentive without being aggressive.

Nice meal on bar overlooking the kitchen. Food very good. Place tries quite hard. Beer selection also good, around 10 mostly Canadian on tap plus a long bottle list with a slightly curious European selection as well. The beer isnít cheap.

As a restaurant, top notch. Value is lacking for a charcuterie, the meats are just overpriced, but it is very good. Beer menu is a good size and has some top shelf beers. A few IPAís and some good examples of other styles at reasonable prices. Server actually new something about beers, my only complaint was they would not let me have 2 beers with my meal at the same time. I will definitely go back.

The food was great and they have a good beer selection too. They try to pair your beer with the dishes.

I tried this place out a few nights ago as we had friends with us visiting from out of town, nice selection of beer, about 30 bottles with Thomas Hardy Ale, Chimay, Duvel, Dogfishhead to name a few. The place was almost empty, I guess we had a new sever, She tried to pour my beer and left me with a glass 70% full of head, the rest spilled out allover the table, at this point I think she probably should have replaced the beer but didnít. She really made a mess of it, the rest of our group insisted on pouring their own. In the restaurant were these large beautiful orchids in vases around the dining area unfortunately they had the worst heavy sickly over powering smell so bad that it made my wife nauseous. One of our guests who is a professional chef agreed that the stink from the flowers were throwing his meal off, we had to have them moved away from the dining area. Although a few of the dishes were interesting I would say for the most part the food was lacking in flavor, we were disappointed and all rated the place 6 out of 10. Even with a fair selection of beer I would not feel inspired to go back.

I was surprised by Charcut. I was expecting the great food (which they delivered - their $15 lunch special is a STEAL), but not the beer list. Their list is very, very well-chosen. I went with the Alley Cat lager they had on tap (on tap!), but the bottle list looks really great. Might make a habit of this one...

It was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was packed. Very friendly hostess and waitresses as usual who knew the menus extremely well? It continues to impress me! I ordered a starter, which was an heirloom tomato salad with local made buffalo mozzarella. The story our waitress told us was the farmer has four water buffalo that he started milking and making the cheese and CharCut is one of three restaurants showcasing the cheese. It was simple yet divine. The flavours were well balanced, and an excellent first course. It was a great showcase of their new menu. This was followed by a main of rotisserie heritage chicken with roasted red turnips and arugula. It was amazing!!! Juicy, tender and delicious. We had room for dessert, and chose the strawberry cheese cake in a jar. Topped with stewed strawberries it was a perfect end to another great meal at my favourite restaurant. PS. The beer guy and his recommendations were fantastic. He really knows his beers!

Recently went here for my wifeís 40th. Reasonably priced menu for the quality of food, which is truly outstanding. It is a charcuterie, so if you donít love meat then donít bother. The menu is designed to order multiple things for sharing (think tapas, but without the mediterranean influence). They claim to be the first place to have an actual "beer sommelier" on staff, but unfortunately he wasnít available on this particular night (I guess he is a full time high school teacher as well). Anyway, this place sports a well-designed beer menu with about 20-30 bottles of pure quality craft selections encompassing most styles and representing the local scene, as well as the American and European scene. Prices are a bit high, but this is a fine dining establishment and not a high-volume bar. There are also about 8-10 taps with a good range of Albertan brews, including the very limited release of Big Rocks Scotch Ale. As far as a gourmet food and beer experience, I would say this is the finest Calgary has to offer.
