Went there on a Mon night and the bartender was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to provide samples and entertain your beer geekness. Also went on an early Sat night and no problem getting a table. Being primarily vegetarian there was little offerings, all I want is a veggie burger! But the food that I had was good. The quality of beer on tap is excellent ( I think Delirium Tremons is much better on tap) and they take proper glassware to the next level by having each beer in the brewery’s glass with the brewers label. I assume the bottle selection will get more extensive with time. There were a handful of local Belgian-inspired beers available, and the bottle list included a few more. All the beer is served in brand appropriate glassware. The menu has some appealing options including the beer hummus I enjoyed. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. Mostly well to do businessmen were at the bar on my visit. Good food and excellent selection of beers and glassware. I bought a tulip from theme server and as I walked out through the restaurant, the bartender yelled "did you pay for that?" I spoke to the manager and he facepalmed, but didn’t really do anything about it. Also, have a number of quality craft brews from around the country with a decent bottle list, as well. They offer a lot of the "regular" belgians on tap and have 3 different sampler trays. The food was great and came out very quickly. I can echo what other people have said that prices can tend to be on the high-side, but I am willing to pay the extra $ for such a great atmosphere. Also, you can get burgers/sandwiches and frites for ~$11. Best craft beer import selection in town. I heard they will be brewing their own beers soon, which could be really cool, will keep an eye on the Cheeky Monk! |
