Another great Ottawa pub but not really much of a craft beer destination. I think they only have a few beers on tap, your typical Guinness etc. with maybe one or two locals if that. This place is all about the vibe though, great place to go for a cozy drink after work.

Busy and buzzy pub with good mix of people. Can be very full. Service a little slow as there only seemed to be one waitress on duty. Well worth a second visit.

From a food aspect, this place is pretty good. Great burgers and pub fare. Ambiance is pretty cool, small hole in the wall bar the beer selection is above average but not awesome. Id probably go back but not top of my list for Ottawa.

A nice bar, not the widest beer selection but a few Ontario and Québec Micros. Good pub food, a great ambiance and prices are fair. The owner is a habs fan and we used to watch hockey games at this place. Love the juke box!

Multi-tiered seating levels, eclectic music and a unique interior artwork makes this an interesting spot to hang out. Add to that it’s varied (but limited) menu of high quality gourmet food, and it becomes a must visit in Ottawa.
Known for their burgers, the Frida and Diego burger with toppings of jalapenos, Monterey jack cheese and fried onions, is a spicy favourite of mine.
Beer selection is good with some craft beers Heritage, Blanche de Chambly and St. Ambroise & Griffin. As well as Guinness, Kilkenny and others.
It’shas 2 downfalls however. There are only 2 or 3 servers for the entire place so it can become difficult to get their attention (as they are always moving), and the food takes a while to be cooked. You’ll love it when it arrives, but don’t go if your expecting food within 15 minutes.

A small and rustic Quebecois tavern near the Byward Market. A nice selection of taps is on par with the Black Tomato, with a good selection of wine and beer in bottles. Service was a bit slow due to understafing, but friendly nonetheless.
I ordered a burger topped with caramalized onions, brie, and pear. It was delicious and well prepared. The char from the grill gave it the right amount of that real bbq smokey flavour. The frites are skinny and appetizing, and the salad was simple but tasty. Overall, I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better burger. Pints of Griffon Blonde and Tankhouse were had and the beer was fresh and served in the proper glassware.
