Stopped by twice on our recent trip, once later at night, once in the afternoon. Fantastic selection and very friendly, helpful staff. Nice cheese and meat plate on the afternoon stop. Great location to watch the world go by.

Amazing place in Brussels. Good taps and bottle list including cellar ed beer. The most knowledgeable staff I’ve seen. Much quieter and more relaxed than the chaotic Delirium cafe. More my style. Awesome.

Our favourite place I think while in Brussels. Great atmosphere and service. And the beer selection is second to none. You can’t do better than this place I think.

Nice place, even outside. Pleasant service (but the second guy was a bit confused). Very nice selection (I want to live in Brussels). Good prices for centre of Brussels. I like it more than Delirium Cafe, still don’t know how it works here at night... I’m not surprised it’s best rated place in Brussels.

Very nice selection, prices are still on the ok side, except for some overprized bottles. Service is quite well, they have been trained for this. They help out quite well with choosing a beer.. But the only thing i dislike about this place is the way they serve their beers... Serving a beer is in one shot only, not trying to reshape the foam with the ’skimmer’ or adding an allready served beer to another in order to have less foam or for whatsoever reason. Also, just rincing the glass after serving beer in it is also quite enjoyable for the customers hands. Especially with dark sweeter ales that just stick on your fingers... Just some minor details, but soo important. Last thing is the music. For f*ck’s sake... You serve the best beers of the universe and you accept some sort of goatrance shit at 5pm.. Well whatever, just makes me wanna finish my drink quicker and leave.

Bel endroit chic rustique. Service impeccable, connaissant et très sympathique. Choix de bière succulente. Les prix sont très bons. À revisiter!

Went her late on the Sunday night and again on the Monday evening. An excellent pub. Quite simply essential on a visit to Brussels. The tap selection is great, the bottle selection is pretty wild. It’s a hip joint but the staff resist the temptation to be dicks. We sat at the bar on the Sunday night and the staff were being excellent. Funny & personable. When we came back we had some food whilst sitting outside in the sun. The same staff were very good with us again talking at length about the modern Belgian beer scene. I’d never tire of drinking in a place like this..

This review is only based on a single casual visit conducted on a mid-May evening just before Ascension. We had no problem finding a table outside and the weather was pleasant. The table was equipped with a leaflet describing their tap lineup, which was a nice touch and the attentive waitress did not hesitate to bring the board with specials when asked. When my girlfriend hesitated she asked just the right questions to pinpoint a solid recommendation (Moeder Fucker VIII from Le Paradis), which ended up being actually preferable to the Belgian beer I chose myself. For my second beer I asked for the Cantillon Framboise but was told it was unavailable and was instead recommended their Kriek. Not exactly the same experience but certainly a defensible recommendation. As I have grown used to beer bars where you go to the bar for service I find it a bit awkward to adapt to the ’francophone’ tradition of waiting for service at the table - especially when you want to leave and all the waiters seem to be busy inside so I ended up going inside to remind the waiter that I asked to pay. Regarding the selection others have probably assessed it better than me. I went here with the expectation that I could peruse a comprehensive menu of bottled vintage beer and I never really came around to despite my willingness to pay through the nose for this so I feel like I’ve only really scratched the surface of what may or may not be offered here. I will have to go back one day with a more dedicated focus.
