Visited here with sebletitje. Cool, the original Moeder that has a much smaller space and smaller tap list. But where it comes up short there it shines in character and a welcoming neighborhood pub feel. The furniture is well worn and silky smooth and is just large tree trunks that have been sliced about maybe three times to make the table tops. The chairs/benches are made in the same way. Pretty neat. I like how they offer up newer stuff and brews from up and coming brewers to keep things interesting and maintaining a local vibe. This isnít a place worth skipping a trip to Cantillon to see but it is worth seeking out sooner or later.

(Visited July & Oct 2012) Very friendly and cosy beer bar in Saint-Gilles in the southern parts of Brussels. Itís quite a walk from the city center, but easily accessible from tram/tube stations Albert or Horta. Compared to its sister bar at Place Fontainas, this one is smaller and cosier, with more of a locals feeling. They have fewer draught beers, up to ten, but more bottles. Draught beers are mainly Belgian, with some Italian craft beers as guest on my visits. The selection of bottled beers is quite impressive (although all in the beer list donít seem to be available all the time). Be sure to try the Cantillon Cuvťe Moeder (Kriekenlambic). Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, but can get busy when itís crowded. Great music as well, managed to go through a bottle of Struise Aardmonnik, while listening through the whole "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" album. Canít get better than that. Food is down to light bites, like cheese, sandwiches and sausages. Itís definitely worth the slight detour, and is a must visit in Brussels.

Diferent than the new one, good selection of beers, sometimes had to wait a little bit, but a great place to go.

Nice bar in the inner outskirts of Brussels. Run by one of the Cantillon brewers itís pure quality and the service in top notch. It was rather crowded when we got there, but we had a great time. Try the XX-Bitter.

A cosy corner pub with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and a fantastic range of beers. Great for Cantillon, but also for other many other fantastic breweries. A bit more difficult to find than their other pub, but itís well worth the effort.

Very nice place and selection, I prefer St Gilles than Fontainas for ambiance.

The smaller of the two locations and located a bit south of the center of the city. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Good beers on tap and a pretty extensive bottle list, but they are out of a lot of things on the list. Definitely worth a stop.

Went there on a warm summer night, so we sat outside. Lovely neighbourhood, something you donít always have in Brussels. Selection is similar to the Fontainas place. Service is friendly as well. Prices are expensive though... You would think the Fontainas is a little more expensive because of the location, but it isnít and thatís weird. Overall this is a great beer place though! If youíre coming from the city centre, by bike, youíd better be prepared, itís quite a long uphill ride! TO EVERYONE VISITING BRUSSELS, give me a heads up, Iíd love to trade/share some bottles!

A nice outside terrace and a cozy bar inside. Quite small but this gives the staff more time to interact with customers. For me this makes it much more welcoming to someone on their own than the newer main branch. No menu beyond the chalk boards up on the wall which list tons of goodies on draft and in bottles that scratch the surface of what the cellars hold. They were kind enough to show me the cellar where they told me theyíll be a massive renovation where the restrooms on the first floor will be ripped out and a new entrance to the cellar installed which will become a bar/dinning area where they plan to have brunch. During this time itíll be closed for 3 weeks. So if youíre coming in Sept/Oct 2015 call ahead.
