A great selection of geuze on draught as well as a great, if a little pricey, bottled beer list. I’ve had multiple draught Cantillon’s here when I’ve visited and we also got the Biere Darbyste which was amazing. I haven’t been to the new one yet but I can recommend this pub.

This is my first place I discovered couple of my favorite beers over 10 years ago. Back then I asked their suggestion and was always well advised. The folks there, they drink beers that’s for sure. This place can be easily crowded because it is just too small. but that is another of their charm. It’s far from being touristic and often , we find regular customers, mostly students and hipsters. The choice of beers served from tap is limited but vary from season to season. There is an amazing choice of bottles and sometimes we find some foreign exceptional brews. That’s where I drunk some of the Stone Brewery masterpieces ! Anyway it’s a nice place and always be on top for it’s authentic Brussels charm.

Very little place 3km outside of central Brussels. More than 300 Belgium beers in the menu. Cantillon Faro on tap. Friendly service. I had De cam oude Lambiek & Glazen Touren saison d merpe. Very nice. Downside is that it is crowded in the weekends and that is extremely smokey. Hard to breathe in there.

Opens at 16.00 every day (I think), we arrived at 16.10 on Saturday 29th Dec 2007 and the place was full by 17.00. Not that there is a lot of room to start with, 30 chairs maybe. A mix of locals who knew each other, two dogs, one child, some loners and a few beer tourists like us filled the place nicely. A corner bar in the shape of a triangle, homely and neat. Wood and brick with a load of windows on the outside, just as you would expect. The three walls have advertising boards and pictures of beers etc, all very ’Olde Worlde-Belgiuquie Style’. There are 3 boards with the tap selection dotted around the place and also a cheese board, we had 150grams of Chimay with some brown sliced bread. Two Cantillon beers were on tap along with a Christmas Beer and four or five others, there was also a ’British handpull (beer engine)’ on the bar, but it was not in use. The bottle book was interesting. We had a 2006 corked and caged 75cl Abbaye Val-Dieu Noel after a couple of beers from the taps. Well away from the normal tourist area, but still seemed a very safe place, it is also close to a huge prison that looks like a castle, so picture opportunities too. A good map and the use of the complicated and complexed but intergrated Brussels transport system will get you there ’no problem’.

Hipster bar with an excellent selection (but limited compared to the Fontainas location). Vibe is good: cool music, nice interior. Clearly the place was understaffed on my visit: only one employee in service for both inside and the patio. Service was slow. Overall a very nice place for the people of Saint-Gilles, but as a tourist, the Fontainas location is far more convenient (for location and selection), which was probably the point of opening the 2nd location anyway.

A nice place with wooden furniture and a small outdoor area. Not the same tap-selection as the sister-pub, in central Brussels, but the beer list is more impressive here. A place to visit when in Brussels.

Visited here on my one-day Brussels trip. Located on walking distance from Cantillon, we stopped over here to have a few drinks. Decent selection of taps and bottles. They serve some pretty interesting vintage lambic over there and some bottles are even available for take-out. Very good prices and good and friendly service. Nice..

Small and cozy place with outside seating. Friendly and helpful staff. Extensive list is very well chosen, with some rarities. A few bottles are a bit expensive, but not excessively so for a Brussels location. More comfortable and intimate than its modern sister in Fontainas.

Nice people, closeby, ideal to escape from industrial beers once in a while
