It deserves to be in the top10 like the other one. Fascinating place, great beer list and service. Even if it’s smaller, this is definitely my kind of place. Not easy to find and to get in.

Even better than its draft counterpart. I could have spent 500 euro here. The cheese pairings are fair priced and so are the drafts but the cellar brews can be pricey but they are outrageous. YOu name an old cantillion and you drink it. Staff is awesome. They know everything about lambics and serve it in the traditional way.

My favourite bar in Brussels, with the most knowledgeable staff in town, always ready to help you choosing your beer.
Some gems on tap but more impressive is their bottle collection (around 300 different ones).
Don’t expect to find beer from the big or mid-sized breweries here, they only seel the real artisanal stuff.
As it is not in downtown, it is usually full with locals.
The bar is small and cozy, but can get too crowded.
There is no food, only some appetizers (great selection of cheeses and delicious sausage sundried with beer)
One of the msot genuine Belgian bars in Brussels.

I have probably more than a hundred time to the Fontainas location but I finally made it out to this one. Thanks for the ride AdamChandler. Out of the city center, finding a parking spot was near impossible for the driver. Quite small but very cozy. Selection is similar to the new location but smaller. Noting in the way of ticks for me but a world class selection. Prices were okay considering the quality. The thing that really drew me to this place is the amazing cozy selection, were warm & lovely, a real neighborhood bar, touch hipster but just perfect to drink spectacular beers. I wish this was near where I live so that I could be here all of the time. It is similar to the Fontainas location but just so much more cozy & neighborhood like. The selection is just so perfect as is the atmosphere.

i’m living in brussels and for me this is thebar with the best selection of beer in town. Of course you have his little brother (fonainas) wich has aproximatly the same selection but with more taps and forgain beers, but he lacks the the relaxed atmosphere of a little neighbourhood bar.
Moeder Lambic can’t of course compeet with the 2000 + beers of delirium bar, but evrybody who went to delirium know it is a kind of tourist trap ( by the way the owner of delirium is the old owner of moeder lambic).
since you can’t smoke inside anymore, you can enjoy your beer and/or cheese much better now.
i would say to every tourist who want’s to see the reel brussels to take the tramway to saint gilles and have a beer at the first moeder lambic, and met other beer lovers, including the staff.

I’m happy to report that the new owner is absolutely fantastic. Their service is the best I have ever tried. One of the owners took time to sit down at my table several times during the evening to expand my beer knowledge.
My mates and I then arranged a tasting next day where he would prepare the program. The program was fantastic and contained serveral vintage beers. This is by far the best bar i Brussels and unlike Delirium they do actually have all the beers on the menu.
Now they even have Cantillion on tap and the owner have big plans for the place which I cannot reveal yet. This is a must on a trip to Brussels.
