(Visited 09/2013): Chuckís is located in the north part of Ballard on the corner of NW 85th and 8th. There is a small parking lot in front of the building.
After passing a small patio in front, the interior opens to a convenience store style layout with shelves along the right and perimeter, including some coolers toward the rear. There is a small walk up bar in the back left corner, with a digital board above the bar listing what is on tap. Yellow walls, and a painted logo with the words "Land of a Thousand Beers".
As for the beers, there are exactly 38 on draught, including breweries like Bakwoods, Elysian, Odin and Fort George. Growlers are available for draught beer. The bottled selection amounts to hundreds, including many west coast breweries like Bruery, Lost Abbey, Elysian, Pike and Almanac. Lots of singles and imports as well.
Service on a relatively slow weekend afternoon was good both at the bar and while I was shopping. These guys definitely know their beer.
I did not have any food on my visit.
Overall this is a solid beer store to visit in the Seattle area, and the option of enjoying a pint before, during or after shopping is a great bonus.

Basic setup of tables, chairs and a cheap looking bar. It feels like Iíve just stepped into a mini-mart or something. Oh, thatís not a negative connotation by any means...I freakiní loved this place. Chuckís Hop Shop rocks. Ridiculous amount of bottles stocked up in fridges lining the walls plus an extensive tap selection to choose from. Thereís food trucks dishing out excellent grub outside. Family and dog friendly. Fill growlers here. Yes!

Not too far from Naked City and other Seattle essentials, so get here. To me, this was a better experience than even Bottleworks. A complete experience with large spaces, kind of a cafeteria in the middle where you can dig into the interesting tap selection and tons of fridges surrounding you. Iím not convinced there can really be over 1000 bottles in there, but there sure are many and theyíre well kept, easy to browse throughť I did not interact much with the staff nor did I eat, but the atmosphere herein was most pleasant and relaxed. A bit out of the way if you are not in the neighborhood, but so can other beer stores in Seattle be and combining with Naked City makes a lot of sense, especially for those with a car which should find a spot closeby.

Great tap selection with 38 on tap. Stopped here right after a bunch of IIPAs were tapped so I was in heaven. Not served in proper glassware though, at least not to my liking. Bottle selection is solid, though prices are slightly higher than elsewhere. Definitely worth a stop if in the area.

Evidence that you donít need an amazing structure to make a great business.
This is a little beer mini-mecca thatís been carved out of a crummy old convenience store. They appear to have done this by sheer force of will. Itís a great bottle shop, and they always have a great tap list. They even have food!
You walk in and the front has a few tables, some wine displays merched out, and an aisle or two of packaged foods for sale. It still has that convenience store feel, at least for a few square feet--racks of candy bars, and so on.
But past that is a medium-sized seating area with a dozen or so tables and about 700-800 bottles in coolers and on shelves. They get a solid cross-section of West Coast (the emphasis), other domestics, and imports. They get their fair share of special releases both in bottle and on tap.
The staff are really nice, and the prices are solid enough. Thereís usually a food truck parked outside, and the place gets really busy. If you like good beer, this place will eventually be a must-stop for you. Sooner or later, either curiosity or something good in stock nowhere else has to bring every beer lover here. Itís not the first stop for out of town visitors, but theyíre very good at what they do, and they wonít let you down.

This spot was nice. Lots of bottles for there or takeaway, decent tap list but prices seemed high. They have daily food trucks outside and I took up the biscuit truck quite well. Iíd come here again but they are pretty far north of seattle.

This is a "corner" store, market-type place. They have food items, you know, munching-type shit like chips, and beef jerky. They also have ice cream, and incense. One thing they do have that is relevant to this site is a pretty damn good beer selection. Iíve seen things here that I havenít seen anywhere else in Seattle. The place isnít trying to be pretentious, and the owner (?) was really nice and asked us if we had any questions. I never have questions, but the fact that he offered to answer the questions I didnít have, was nice. Anyways, the pricing here is a bit tricky. I saw some things that were quite a deal, and other things that were not so much of a deal. The markups werenít that bad, but on something like North Coast Old Stock Cellar Reserve the price was $27.99 instead of $25.99, for example. With that being said, you just have to watch your ass so you donít over spend on something that is cheaper, that may be closer to you. Great place because they offer even the cheap shit, so when I move closer to area I know where Iím going.

What a great spot! Glad to finally visit. Strange location, but cool. Extensive bottle selection, quite a few things (mostly Pac NW locals) I hadnít seen in Seattle before, plus plenty of fancier specials and imports. Even random things like Tusker from Kenya. But Iíll stay for the great tap list, which theyíll serve in half-pints. All available for growlers (and half growlers). Food trucks park out front daily, which is very cool. Great spot, worth a special trip if youíre in town, and wish it was in my neighborhood.

This former grocery store has turned into a great neighborhood pub and beer shop with locals of the Greenwood area in the north of Seattle bringing the family along for an evening beer. Very nice atmosphere with an outdoor seating area. 38 taps with beer from all over the Pacific NW, as well as beer from more remote states (such as Avery The Czar). Oh, and thousands of bottled beer.
