I thought it was awesome, we stopped on a Saturday evening around 5pm maybe a touch earlier and got seated right away in the back, my wife sat on a pew and i had a chair, got the 8 draft sampler and was served promptly food is tasty but limited in selection and high in price.. the scenery and novelty of being in a church never wore off for me but did for my wife. they have bottles and growlers to go at reasonable prices, I quite enjoyed my time.

Street parking a little away from the main spots in the city. The outside already makes the ambiance a 5/5. A church turned into a brewery, such a cool thing. The inside makes it even better. Just one of the coolest beer related places I have seen so far. I sat at the bar on a Sunday evening and had good and fast service. The didnít have a rotating stout on tap at the time of my visit, but had plenty of other beers to pick from. I shared a pizza and it was above average. Just sitting in this place and having a few beers was such a cool experience and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Pittsburgh.

Stopped in here when in town for work this week. Awesome setup in an old church like nothing I have ever seen. Freaking cool as hell. Huge place with lots of setting and a large bar space. Almost too big. They had about 10 taps with regulars and rotating seasonal stuff. Bottles and growlers abailable. Tried a couple brews on draft and got some Apps and a pizza. Good was very good, but the beer left something to be desired. Definitely worth a stop in but donít expect mind blowing brews.

One of the coolest places Iíve ever drank a beer. Awesome huge old church. The brewery itself is on the altar. Server was extremely friendly and helpful. Proactively offered tasters when I was torn between 2 choices and answered my questions. Slight deduction for the food being a bit slow coming out. Selection is very disappointing. The beer itself is fine but there just isnít much variety given that youíre drinking it at the source. Food is creative and tasty. Had rattlesnake and cactus pierogies with chipotle corn chowder as an app (ok) and pizza with wild boar, corn, mozzarella and BBQ sauce made with Pious Monk Dunkel (awesome). Prices seem ok. All in all definitely worth seeing once.

Parking was on the street, but we found a spot right away. This place is a beautiful old catholic church where. Long bar on the left with tables also available. Church drafts only, and they didnít seem to have bottles. I had the sampler which was nine 5-oz. samples for around $13. Of the nine samples, two were good, six were average, and one was not good. I did not have the food.

Unique setting! Never thought I would drink in a church, but now I have.Very good beer selection, and the food was excellent. Pierogis are a must! The brewery was in the alter of the church and I thought I heard angels singing when I walked in and saw all that steel and copper. I believe it was nectar of the gods in there. Amen!

They did not have any beer left on tap for my first two choices!! What a start, but hey it got much better. Many brewpubs tag food along with the beer, and you can tell- when you start eating. NOT THIS PLACE. The food here is very good. I took my wife and in laws(who do not drink at all) and everybody loved it. The home made potato chips were great! I had a very good pulled pork sandwich. When you walk in- you will be either amazed or offended, as the brew works is set up on what used to be the alter of the church! One thing that I liked that this is a neighborhood restaurant with plenty of street parking-you feel like you are in Pittsburgh.

What a spectacular place. Although if you are to visit I walked over the hill (hill district) and would avoid this as the neighborhood is quite risky, but the location of the brewery, next to the old pittsburg brewery is great, the old St. Johns church is amazing. This is a must for craft brewery seekers. Brewing is done at the alter, the alter is replaced by a nice modern setup for brewing having been in place for 15 years. The food is ok with many local favorites and good bar food. However the beer selection is fantastic. I found the Pious Monk Dunkel excellent. Well done and a great afternoon spent!

This is the best brewpub in Pittsburgh (not that there are many). Of course it is set in an old church, complete with stained glass windows, pew-like tables, and the super high ceilings. It is a large place with a long, winding bar, tables next to the bar, and a large "restaurant" seating area. The beer is usually quite good and they often have some eclectic styles (for example just on yesterday - a lichtenhainer, a coffee pale ale, a brown ale with bergamot, and others). They usually have one cask. Their regulars are not very exciting (golden ale, pale ale, dunkel, and rotating stout) but their Thunderhop IPA (not sure if it is considered a regular) is really good. The food is pretty decent - slightly more upscale pub food. You can get sandwiches and pizza and there are some entrees as well. My only beef with this place is that the service can sometimes be slow, especially at the bar. They do have a happy hour (I think itís 5-7 where most beers are $3-3.50). There are 2 small TVs at either end of the bar, so itís not really a destination for sports watching. A good place to bring the family and definitely a good place to enjoy some interesting beer.

Iím going to give this place about a 794 for ambiance. Indeed it is located inside an old church, a big majestic one at that. Church pews, holy water fonts, beautiful stained glass windows, enough to make this lapsed Catholic feel very contemplative. They have a ton of space and they use it... a very long bar, tons of tables. The place seemed very quiet, but at one point there were nearly 40 people in the mid-afternoon on a weekday, so the large space really dampens the noise. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Customer service was professional but a little lacking. The exception to that was lithy coming out after his brew day to chat, and even tapping a new beer so I could try it. Thanks man! There is a sampler available... pricy but very large (40 ounces). The beers were all solid with a couple of standouts. Growler fills available and some bottles to go. Plenty of parking out back. My expectations for this place were very high, and I was not disappointed. If you want to literally worship beer, this is the place to go.
