This place is the reason, why Florida is getting recognized for craft beer. They are small and young. However, they are bold and constantly pushing the limits. Itís a must stop for a beer nerd/geek.
Thank you Joey, Wayne, and the rest of the wonderful staff at Cigar City.

LOVE this place. thank you so much cigar city for bringing world class beer to Florida.
Thank you for helping to cultivate the brewery scene in your area. I remember the early days of a little hot tasting annex in the middle of small brewery. to now a full scale brewery with a legit, always busy, tasting room. keep up the good work guys, and you will always have our support.

This place is full of smiling faces, short stories and on the occasion, great music. The beer selection is fantastic, and everything is fresh - some of you might have to re-rate! Prices are fantastic and the people are great - really creating the perfect atmosphere to just sit around and drink all day.

Love the beers -- so not a stretch that I also like the brewery. Been to the tasting room a few times with hardly anyone there and have been for the Hanahpu releases when the place was packed. Good times either way. What you see is what you get - a warehouse brewery and a small tasting room with growlers to go.

Always a fun time at CCB. They hold release parties, festivals, so itís hard to rate this place not taking special occasions into account. Clearly the best brewery in Florida right now with, thank the lord, a wet zone so you can have beers on premise. Tap list rotates quite quickly with something new on every week it seems. Loads of special Pilot batch stuff, special releases, guest taps from other Florida microbreweries. Joey and Wayne are both cool guys though very busy. Bar staff can be in crappy moods occasionally but on quieter days you can have some great conversations. Prices are pretty high during festivals but reasonable on normal days. There are take away bottles as well. It used to be everyone hung out inside the brewery, now there is a sectioned off true bar with tables etc. Very fun place to visit and right in the smack middle of cool stuff to do in Tampa. Definitely jaunt over to Alessi Bakery not far away for the best Cuban sandwiches in the US (not a joke). I would rate Alessi 100/100 if it were eligible for RateBeer places. Also stop by Rollin Oats market a block from Alessi to check out some CCB bottles. You can also go over to Whole Foods or Total Wine and More right behind Cigar City to pick up CCB bottles that might not be for sale on premise. Sometimes the beers at Whole Foods and Total Wine are actually $1 less than on premise.

This place is awesome. My first trip over was a blast. Upon arrival I walked into the tasting room that has loads of taps with a big variety of CCB beers ready to go + guest taps as well. Growlers to go at a great price and some bottles of the beers that you canít get in growlers. Everyone there was really chill and helpful, answering any questions while still shooting the breeze and laughing, making the atmosphere great. All the folks I met in the tasting room were cool as hell, too. Great service, selection, and value. What else is there to say? This is gonna be a new regular stop for me.

After drinking some CCB beer in Brooklyn, and then coming home to explain to everyone that people in NYC are very excited about this brewery from Tampa, I made sure to attend the city council meeting for the zoning of their tasting room. And I am glad I did. This place is making world class (and recently award winning) beer and selling it as fast as can be. The tasting room is set to expand, and they sell growlers at the bar. Last time I was there, I could basically get anything I wanted in a growler. Fresh beer is an amazing thing, and their diversity of taps are astounding. This place is getting up to speed fast, so previous reviews may not be what is going on this week. Staff is super in the know, and the brewery is on the other side of the wall (with tv closed circuits so you can see what the guys are up to in there). Highlights are the Saisons, the IPAs, any of their Imperials or Stouts, and any of their aged brews.

Stopped in the afternoon of 4/28/11. Small taproom with plenty of bar space and a display of bottles behind the bar. Very laid back atmosphere. Friendly bartender who really knew the beers that were there (and plenty of them that werenít, including stuff from other brewers). She claimed that all the bartenders who work there are really into beer and that she knew the least of all of them. Incredibly impressive. We even got an impromptu tour from Joey since the guy who normally does tours had a mishap that morning (heal quickly!). Twelve beers on tap, 10 or 11 of which were CCB. Tasty stuff, with Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, East India Dry Stout and Jose Marti being the standouts. Awesome place and I look forward to going back the next time Iím in the Sunshine state.
