Attractive and rangy pub just off the centre of Wells in the old town gaol. Rather a dull range of beers on offer on our visit, the Glastonbury rebadge is Festivale, which has cranberries added. Good reputation for food, all the tables being taken while we were there, but not a pub really worth seeking out for variety in beer, but best in the town.

Good spot, in the former city jail. One house beer and a handful of beers from the nearby Glastonbury micro. The food was on the heavy side (had lunch there and didnít even bother with dinner). Beers were in good condition universally I think.

Formerly the city jail, now a free house. No real evidence of it being a jail--it would be nice to have some dungeon kitch but itís a really comfortable bar/restaurant. Larger than most English pubs. Friendly service and decent but heavy food. When we were there, they have 3 Glastonbury Ales and also a real ale brewed for the town especially by Coors (of all things) and it wasnít even that bad. Oh, the town of Wells is simply gorgeous and worth visiting!
