Grocery store that is an easy walk from the downtown area. Nice selection of local and regional beer. Decent sake selection as well. Friendly staff and great sandwiches made to order.

Very attractive for a supermarket. This is actually a great supermarket, which also carries a pretty solid selection of beer and sake. The beer selection was mainly local micros, with a few imports. Service was adequate and friendly. Also, look in the frozen food section for some American Flatbread pizzas. I was plenty happy to bring a few of those home. Nice store

A hippie spirited store with a solid, but diversified selection of everything - food or liquid, but perhaps not exceptional in any department. Still, a growing number of sakes, lots of cheeses and the excellent location, makes this worth the 5 minute walk to get there from Burlington’s center. The beer selection holds above a hundred bottles and that makes it quite good for Vermont, but obviously, if you have the time, a trip to Winooski would offer a larger variety. On the other hand, I counted a few bottles here that were not at Winooski, so you may want to pop in anyway. I like the place anyway and their breads are very solid.

A really nice grocery store in the style of Whole Foods, focusing a lot on local produce and goods - even if it didn’t sell beer it would be worth a stop, as their selection of food and other products is very impressive - the beer section contains about everything you can get in VT, but when I was there their stock of McNeills had dwindled to three (although one of those was Old Ringworm, score!) - the small shelf of sakes was nice, too - overall a great little local grocery - however, it seems to get very busy, and the parking lot is dangerously small (my girlfriend and I almost got ran over in front of the place).

A good selection of Vermonts particularly McNeills. Not much in imports. There were some Rogues as well. As this is not the biggest supermarket, the beer selection is a significant portion of the store. Lots and lots of 12-paks boxes and some growlers. Staff were not beer knowledgeable they just work here. Good long hours and convenient downtown location, so a sure stop ifyou are passing through this beautiful small city. What I liked best in Vermont was here, the emphasis on the local craft everythin industry, and the minimum in macro selection.

I went in there expecting to find a decent selection of beer. The store itself is very nice, but their selection is not much better than most other package stores I’ve been to in the area. The one thing they do have are McNeills, but why not stop there on the way up?

I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection at the City Market - I presumed only Long Trail and a bunch of the Wolavers yet there is so many more quality VT brewers here including McNeills, Putney Mountain Mead, Magic Hat, Rock Art and Vermont Pub & Brewery (growlers). A great grocer - I wish we’d get a place like this in Ottawa for our environmentally conscious and organic population.
