70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 14/20 PorterPounder (244) Tallahassee, Florida | April 21, 2012 More of a wine place than a beer bar but they do have several taps of usually quality stuff on tap - a common Belgian perhaps or a west coast micro. The food is outstanding with a gourmet flair. They also have several beer mixtures akin to Black and Tans. A good place to come to celebrate a special occasion or for a more high-brow evening - a tad on the pricey side - but worth it. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 darn1207 (72) Tallahassee, Florida | June 9, 2011 Love the restaurant. As everyone says - the crack and cheese is insane. On the beer side - there are usually five or six taps and seem to always be different each time I’m in. Good micros usually. They also have a good number of bottles, but everything I ordered was out. The waiter ended up giving me a Ola Dubh 30 on the house... not bad. Overall it’s a good little restaurant that will likely have something on hand that a proper beer geek will appreciate. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 blbaub (10) Florida | January 15, 2011 Neat little place. Love the Mac n Cheese. Good selection of beer for the size. Parking a little limited. Overall, cool place to try out. Food is great. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 drowland (142) Jacksonville, Florida | August 10, 2010 This is a nice little placed tucked away off of Monroe street in a little strip mall, as mentioned below.
The staff consists mainly of the only and a small amount of other people. These people are, however, quite knowledgeable about their food, wines, and beers. As any question and you shall receive.
The selection for beers is minimal, but good. They only carry craft and imports (possibly a smaller macro on tap such as Yuengling), but not very many. However, you’re sure to find a nice brew to have with lunch/dinner.
The food is fantastic. They’re known for their truffle mac and cheese, and I recommend you try it. Just about anything else you try will likely tickle your fancy as well.
Let it be known that you’re getting into an expensive place to dine. Beer prices are slightly above average, and the food is pretty expensive. Most lunch meals are 12-15 dollars, and dinner is about double. In many cases, it’s worth it.
Overall, this isn’t a "must stop" place for beer geeks in general, but if you want some good brew and are a foodie as well, definitely make a trip on by.
| 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 mrselfdestruct (2) , Tuvalu | May 6, 2009 AMAZING little place tucked into a hidden strip mall off Monroe St. I didn’t think a place like this existed in Tallahassee. Pretty good selection of beers (see the top of the page), and a HUGE selection of wine. If you get the chance, try and stay for dinner or lunch. The food is amazing. Everything seems to be cooked with truffles. Try the "best" grilled cheese sandwich, the truffle mac-n-cheese and the angus beef panini. All were excellent. Great selection of cheese as well. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 desurfer (102) Melbourne, Florida | March 13, 2009 Cool little joint hidden in a strip mall; the inside is intimate with a small shop, a bar, and some tables. Plenty of good beers and an extensive wine list. Very nice menu; I had the cheese and meat platter and thoroughly enjoyed the assortment. A definite recommendation for the Tallahassee area. |
