56 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20
Liquor stores in the northlands are generally not known for great selection. Bear that in mind when going here, or anywhere else up here for that matter. I did, so I had low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. There is nothing that will amaze you, but if you are heading north on highway 33, this is a good stop. They have Surly, some Bells, Lake Superior, and quite a few other decent breweries. Their foreign selection is lacking, with only LIndemans, Duvel, Paulaner, and some other large breweries, but they are making an effort. The biggest plus here is the fact that virtually everything is available in singles, and the prices are very reasonable (especially compared to Duluth). I didnít interact with the staff much, but they seemed nice enough. The only other store that I checked in Cloquet was Lemon Tree, and Cold One definitely has a better selection than them. The only plus for Lemon Tree was that they had Hopslam, and Cold One either had sold out, or never gotten any in.
