Lovely brick-heavy underground bar right opposite (and equally as awkward descending to) the Poatersgat underground bar. This one is also a single room affair but it’s less than a third of its size, however it’s much more intimate and arguably slightly more convivial for it. The beer list here is just as good as its rival opposite and on any beer tour of the city, both should probably visited at the same convenient time, although I ended up trying more beers in this cellar bar. The staff are very knowledgeable about their beers.

We visited here on Saturday 18th October; by we I mean me, Loz, Nick, Anna and kids. This place is a short 5-7 min walk from ths main Sq and Belfort and for those familiar with other Brugge pubs/cafes it is pretty much opposite another cellar the Poatersgat (probably spelt wrong). Quite dark but also atmospheric and with long tables scattered about. The service was excellent and with a smile and the lady came back with our beers and never even had to ask whose beer was whose she remembered them all and also the kids soft drinks. The beer choice was very good and whilst there may not have been to many rarities it still offered some very decent beers and at great prices, Orval was €3.60 as I recall. They had no issues with kids even at the relatively late hour we arrived. All in all, really good bar.

The old ’De Zolder’ shell, completely changed by Bram and his wife (ex employee of Daisy).
Cool classical music and paintings by the De Dolle brewer adorned the walls, a regular feature will be changing art displays by various painters throughout the year.
I was here during the first two months of it opening, still finding its feet, but busy none-the-less. Another fine beer bar in Brugge, get here before the new set of guide books come out and it becomes well known.
A good mix of draught and bottled beers choosen by Bram, he knows his beers and has some interesting selections. I really hope this place takes off, it certainly should. We know each other from his days at ’t Brugs Beertje and we had a good chat about his expectations and hopes, good luck to him!

I will echo the sentiment expressed by the first poster...this is the best choice to end an evening in Bruges...great jazz and beer in a dark cellar on a side street. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly. He offered some choice recommendations that were very appreciated.

Very nice cellar bar with good table service. Beers served well and in correct glass. Very nice atmosphere. A place to chill out and relax with some easy Blues music in the background. Quite a decent variety in their selection along with the more standard Belgian classics.

Great atmosphere in this bar located in an old cellar. Visited on a friday night, place was crowded but not a point of being bothersome. Staff seemed friendly, but there wasn’t really an opportunity to get a better picture of that. Beer selection is quite adequate, not the most extensive in town but it will definitely get you through the evening with a grin on your face.

The place is located exactly in the same point that used to be the De Zolder bar(opposite Poatersgat). De Zolder bar is now closed and in his place opened a magnificent beer-music bar called Comptoir des Arts. Cosy, warm with excellent music tunes of jazz-blues, this place is a top choice in Brugge. Staff is very friendly and polite, big variety of beers and fine whiskies. The atmosphere fantastic and relaxing. Nice decor with seasonal art galleries which change regurarly. Live music sometimes, too. For me is the best place to close the night in Brugge.
