Coopers is one of our local hangouts. A mandatory stop on a North Seattle beer crawl.
PROS- good selection, good bartenders, convenient location, younger more boisterous crowd than most other beer bars in North Seattle, food inexpensive.
CONS- parking can be a pain, bartenders get a bit busy, younger more boisterous crowd than most other beer bars in North Seattle, not a place for an intimate drink, food a bit greasy.
Their month-long IPA fest is not to be missed. We stop by several time during the month and rate another 6-8 IPAs, at the end of the month, a winner is announced.

Wow what a find. I was on a small little beer excursion throughout Seattle and heard about Coopers but did not expect this. I saw the website ahead of time and it is hard to garner what you might see. Tucked up in the hills by the University this is a little beer gold mine. They had 22 wonderful taps with some great Pac NW brews and some out of the way brews. They also had a full bar and I hear the wings are to die for. Next time I am getting some wings. I ordered something I had not had before I picked Maritime Brewing Dark ale and it was very good. They had several TVís going with different football games so I was able to watch my Bengals lose to the Browns and with a bunch of Browns fans. They where super nice and we had a great time talking Football, beer and more beer. Parking is at best sketchy and very hard to find. Park on a side street a block or two away and hoof for your beer. Thatís best advice I can get. The BMW dealer a times lets people park and that is across the busy street. The bartender knew the beers she was pouring very well and talked about other places I should try to visit very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place and will be back to watch more football and try the famous hot wings.

One of my favorite Seattle taverns back in the 1980ís and í90ís, with great microís and decent pub grub. Now days a relatively small,( for Seattle ) but quality tap selection limits the appeal to me. Pool tables and darts add to the ambiance here. Parking is still a headache.

Not exactly great ambiance or service, but always a good lineup of beers. Have never eaten here.

Gotta give these guys credit for having been around since the early, early days of the Seattle beer scene--25 years or so by now. Itís now very much a neighborhood watering hole that happens to crank out amazing selections through their taps now and then.
Theyíre famous, or used to be, for their awesome, somewhat greasy Cooper Burger. Decent pub grub though itís often a bit slippery.
The service can range from stoic and knowledgable to kind of hot-looking and not so competent, depending on whoís on. They do a spring IPA fest and they pretty much have 5-8 genuinely interesting (if not rare) beers on tap at all times.

Honestly canít believe that this place was not even in the database....great Alehouse on the north side of Seattle. I went during their IPA fest and they had a great variety of quality IPAs. Iíd love to come back some other time and see what their taps look like. Iíll be back.
