Recent change of owners: the restaurant upstairs has now gone, and the bar staff told me that no food will be served until the kitchens have been renovated. Still a basic Fullers range of ESB, Pride, and two seasonals this weekend: Summer Ale and the new Wild River. Sign outside says "guest ales", but the current guest is Wild River. Beers were well kept, and it remains a comfortable, relaxing, quiet pub.

The Corn Stores is essentially a waiting area for the Italian restaurant upsatairs - however, itís the biggest "waiting area" youíre likely to see. It stocks a small, unvarying Fullers range (Pride, Chiswick, Discovery) that are kept well; a friendly barman, large TV screens and the comfiest sofas in the known universe (but beware of clonking your bonce on the dado rail behind). Nice little place which is worth coming to for the sofas alone, but Iím not convinced the beer range qualifies it to feature as one of the select few venues on ratebeer... Update: has recently started stocking a guest beer (Adnams The Bitter when I last visited).
