82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 hopdog (222) Lansdale, Pennsylvania | April 6, 2009| Updated July 15, 2009 Stopped by on a Monday around 2pm....needless to say, not busy. Smaller inside. 5 people at the bar. Nice selection of beer (one, if I were a little closer, I would come for more often). They offer free, small samples, of anything, which is very nice. Only complaint, is I had to ask for my water 4 times. 1st time, he must of forgot. Second time, I watched him fill a glass up and then drink it himself. 3rd time, he filled up a glass and gave it to the lady next to me. 4th time, he got it right...I guess he really didn’t care about me! Other than taking a while and repeatedly asking for a water with my beer, the service was good. I’ll probably stop by here again and update...
Update...much better serive this time around! Ordered food too. Limited menu, but the fish and chips were good. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 DocLock (144) Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania | February 25, 2009| Updated July 15, 2009 Very nice place. The interior is cozy, nicely decorated, but a bit small, with a 12 seater bar and roughly 50 person seated dining capacity. The food is out of this world. The burgers melt in your mouth, the homemade seasoned fries are the best I have ever had, the pierogies are astounding, and the soups are great. Everything my wife and I have eaten here has been spot on. The tap selection is 16 strong, and includes a lot of great local stuff, relative rarities like Pliny the Elder, and a smattering of Belgian and dark beers. There are always two or three solid IPAs, 2 or 3 solid Belgians, and 2 or 3 solid stouts on. Service has ranged from initially slow to much better lately. Value is above average, and the takeout beer coolers are stocked with a great deal of awesome stuff. Gary (the owner) has been around the beer business for most of his life, and it shows in this place. I highly recommend Craft Ale House to anyone. You will not be disappointed. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 jeremytoni (139) Swedesboro, New Jersey | January 16, 2013| Updated July 15, 2009 Great selection of bottles and drafts, with some pretty good food and service. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 fata2683 (131) Tucson, Arizona | June 18, 2011| Updated July 15, 2009 Holy cow does this place rule. Not a huge draft selection but what they do have is very nice with tons of variety. Everything is served in proper glassware and there is food available although I did not eat there. The bottle selection is staggering for the area. Lots of options and you can buy them to go. In a state where most beer sales are by the case this is a great option! | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 watson1977 (111) The dub c, Pennsylvania | January 16, 2012| Updated July 15, 2009 Nice beer bar...no liquor. Dark and warm atmosphere...seemed quiet. Decent tap selection though I suspect it is at times great. Outsttanding bottle selection with very good pricing. Food is affordable and pretty darn good. I like this place! Wish it was closer. Service was friendly and fast. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 obxdude10 (104) Pottstown, Pennsylvania | April 25, 2009 This place could definitely become a regular stop for me. What a selection of beer on draft the night I was there. For a small example, they were offering Old Rasputin Impy Stout, Twin Lakes Pale Ale, Stoudts’ Double IPA and Founders Centenial IPA. Plus they had about ten or so other selections. The only bad thing I can say about the Craft Ale House is the lack of selection on the food menu. They had some nice appetizers, a few selections of mussels, a burger, pork sandwich and a few higher end entrees. But that was about it. Not a whole lot of food selection. But the burger and pork sandwich were quite delicious, though. The artisan cheese tray was quite nice, as well. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The service was pretty good, especially for a very busy Friday night. They told us it was going to be about a half-hour wait, but it was only about 20 minutes. The servers didn’t try and rush you to eat and get out, like at a lot of other places. The atmosphere was of a smallish pub, | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 michael-pollack (100) King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | October 12, 2009| Updated August 20, 2011 Nice looking, wood-filled bar. Good service. Nice selection of draughts and bottles. Reasonable prices, except for charges for bread and romulade. Burgers were great! Muscles are very good too. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 can8ianben (93) Souderton, Pennsylvania | June 4, 2012| Updated August 20, 2011 Wow - a hidden gem in this area. Great tap selection and incredible bottle list available to go. Food is tasty. All is great but the prices are not cheap and they do not have a happy hour discount at any time. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 TomDecapolis (69) Lawrence, Kansas | January 6, 2009| Updated May 16, 2009 A welcome addition to the Eastern PA beer scene! I struggled between entering this as a bar or restaurant and went with a bar since the Craft Beer is the focus at this place. Went on a Saturday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. They really did a great job with the inside of this place. Dark woods, fireplace, sofas to chill on, maybe 10 or more tables to seat people who want a meal. Bar is medium size with a decent size TV and 15 beers on tap (one was on nitro). They have two large coolers filled with beer to go. Prices on beer and food seemed reasonable. $4 to $5 for most beers on tap. The higher ABV/rare beers they served in 10 oz glasses but in that same $4 to $5 price range. They had Pliny the Elder on, which has become more common in Easter PA over the past few months but was still nice to see. The staff was very friendly. The bartender is a homebrewer and seemed to know his stuff. Everyone else at the bar was talking either homebrewing or craft beer. Someone mentioned they o | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 alobar (46) Lansdale, Pennsylvania | September 20, 2010| Updated May 16, 2009 This a great beer place. Food is exceptional and the prices are reasonable. Tap list is to notch and bottle list impressive. Prices on bottles are a bit high, but this is a nice place and worth visiting often. |
