Visited on the 18/1-2013. Rigth outside the Brixton tubestation, and you find this lovely pub :-). Very cosy place, nice music. Friendly staff, several kegs / cask and a good range of bottles beers as well. Funny chairs, with bicycle pedals. Absolutely worth another visit :-)

Once again, a nice place with good beers. Quite like the layout with the bar area downstairs and then more little tables upstairs. Still prefer the Clerkenwell one, but this is still definitely a very good place.

Visited on a Saturday night. Great beer selection, although fewer casks than I maybe hoped and the selection was very dominated by Dark Star and Mikkeller. Got quite rammed by 10ish. Service was friendly but a bit dopey and overwhelmed. Little bit lacking in character as a space and could do with more toilets. Pricing was very fair for the cask/keg stuff; those americans really need to stop taking the mick on the bottles. A good beer bar, I’d probably not pick it for pure beer drinking over the other branches but better if out for a night with non-beer drinkers.

Out of the Brixton tube station, to the right, under the bridge and then you can spot the red Craft neon sign on the other side of the farmers market. Not more than a few minutes from the tube. We arrived before opening time at noon, so it was very convenient to find a Wetherspoon, The Beehive, on the corner. As expected, Craft had a huge beer menu; 10 on cask, 20 on keg and all the bottles, many of them put on display in front of the bar. Cask and keg ales from breweries like Leeds, Otley, Dark Star, Camden, Thornbridge, Magic Rock and quite a few from Against The Grain and Mikkeller. Smaller than the Craft in Clerkenwell, on two levels, medium sized and strip-down rooms - more a beer destination than a pub. Sip before you sup service. Brit-pop music. Early on a Sunday the rating conditions could not have been better (visited, 04.11.2012).

CBC Brixton is a located in a convenient spot not far from Brixton tube station. The ambiance is pretty similar to the Clerkenwell location - stripped down and spartan, but pleasant. The brass bar is wonderful to look at (though probably a pain to clean!). As Scopey pointed out, the high chairs are pretty wobbly. I’m sure that more than a few punters will have some comedy drunken tumbles off the seats. My server was professional and quite friendly, but not particularly knowledgeable of the product. The selection’s great, 10 casks and 20 kegs featuring some very tasty stuff. The prices seemed to be in line with the other branches. Overall, this is a nice addition to the scene. London lacks beer bars with late licenses, so I’m sure I’ll use this place for late drinks on weekends etc.

Checked this place out on the opening night and was very impressed. Its pretty small but the upstairs area is pretty spacious and really nice. It has a real European beer bar vibe going on and thats a good thing. Its not a traditional pub and makes no half hearted efforts in this direction. Amazing beer on tap on the first night, which is to be expected with these guys. The UK is getting better but no one does good beer quite as well as this bunch. Worth a trip south of the River.

Visited for a couple of hours on opening day...even had to queue to get in! Great location very close to the tube station - a well needed addition to the area. First reaction is that it feels quite small, but then you realise that there is also upstairs seating, as well as the area out front. The bar area itself is a rather impressive looking copper creation with a crazy 2-tier tap system, where the staff have to reach up to dispense your drink! The fridges at the front of the bar are a nice touch. Beer selection is rather good - 10 casks and 20 kegs of world-class craft beer that you would expect from these guys. They had the barrel-aged Bracia on opening day which sorted me out just fine. 100ish bottles were also available. The spirit selection seemed better than their other outlets. My one gripe is the rather wonky tables and chairs in the downstairs bar, which seem to be a bit more style over substance. Staff were friendly, but not as knowledgeable as the other outlets. A well needed addition to Brixton to get your craft beer fix!

Single room downstairs bar, with a similar sized upstairs room (bar is on ground level only). Also seating on the pavement. good first night vibes. hit on a barman who couldn’t tell me where the beer i ordered was from . He guessed the US, turned out when I checked later it was from SWE! I expect better from the CBC - not too hard to stick labels behind the bar !!! Crowd thinned a little by 21.00 and the wait at the bar calmed down a tad. Promising start, as per most new ventures for me it was not going to get a score into the 90’s on day 1 but a very good start ! will re - review in a few weeks.

Revised review based on several regular visits. I originally scored this 90 but it’s going to have to be downgraded. Always solid, but the range of beers in this place is never as interesting as the other Craft Beer Co places. Bottle range is limited and keg beers don’t change much. I went in on Saturday night and the cask range was reduced down to four beers. Staff tend to be less informed about what they are serving than the other Craft Beer Co pubs. Still a good addition to the South London scene but not up to the other bars standards.
