A nice, open bar in downtown Calgary with a varied tap selection and some pretty good appetizers (poutine). The service was prompt and attentive without being aggressive. A second National Beer Hall location has opened next door.

Shiny and cavernous with a nice beer setup. Lots new to me since I’m not from around here. There on a Wednesday so didn’t get the nightclub atmosphere, more like massive sports bar, which may not be much better. Friendly server. Burger was surprisingly bland considering it had poblano peppers on it but the mac and cheese rocked.

So I have been to beer bars all over the world. I am from Calgary, so this is my first review. Craft is for atmosphere, and look and feel of the room one of the top 3 I have ever been in. Selection is okay, but really good for the Calgary Market. For a place this size to have 10 rotating taps, and a cask program is very impressive. From Hop-works, and Rogue to Coney Island, and Brooklyn. They have a selection that is just not found in Calgary. Food is excellent. As for the beer lovers it is not a small beer bar that we are used to, but I think its great ! If you don’t like the crowds make it a Saturday day visit.

I visited twice during my last visit to Calgary, both at lunch time. Wow this place gets busy quick even though it’s massive. First noticeable is the signage for this place, which is uncannily similar to Craft Beer Co in London (the latter open first)! Pretty decent place all round if a touch commercial…. They have a crazy 100+ beers on tap including 1 cask, which they tap on Tuesdays. They have a wide selection which covers both more commercial beers and more interesting Canadian/international ones. Particular highlights include the St Ambroise and Deschutes beers. Food was rather tasty also. A lot better than I was expecting.

I’ve only been once which says more than a rating. It may just be too big for me. I went opening week and not sure I want to go to a beer bar that is trendy and needs bouncers. May also speak to the increasing number of options for drinking beer in Calgary.

Was walking by so decided to stop in. open concept renovated warehouse. Lots of seating and bar stools around bar. They could really stand to make the beer lines longer though. Cripes. High quantity selection but the quality of beers offered suffers. And quite expensive. The service is spotty. If you're lucky enough to be addressed, it might be good. Maybe it's the turd stapled to my forehead that makes me unapproachable while sitting next to people that are being asked if they'd like anything. This place is passable.

Craft has a great selection of beers, i would love it if they rotated the selections a little more often (i’ve still to have the Brooklyn ale there). Food is good but service can be a little lacking at times. Best bet is to saddle up to the bar and start working through the beers. After 9pm it turns into too much of a club atmosphere, not for serious drinkers.

Odd concept - a beer nightclub. I can’t knock the sheer volume of taps, but at least half of it is filler. Still, that leaves a lot of good taps, even if none of it is rare/amazing. The atmosphere is obnoxious. Ropes, bouncers, drunks on the sidewalk outside, music so loud it’s hard to talk. The people here don’t seem interested in the beer really. Regardless, it’s probably worth visiting in Calgary just for the sheer volume of taps.

Great space, always fun atmosphere and some serious beers. Have been a handful of times now and have noticed it’s more of a nightclub on the weekends than a beer hall.

So much potential gone to waste. A beautiful venue that ’tries’ to be an actual craft beer bar. First the extensive collection of beer includes macro breweries or things I would not truly consider craft brew, so the selection although large is not as good as it could be. Second the service is horrible and wait staff now very little about their products. The food was average. The prices for beer were very high and the clientèle was the frat crowd. It seems they cater not to the beer crowd but to the crowd that thinks beer is trendy, I will not likely be back.
