90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 beerbrat99 (8) Shanghai, China | April 27, 2013 I enjoyed this place a lot and was impressed by their selection of US craft beer. If you are hunting after some elusive bottles from Three Floyds they might have them in stock. The prices are a bit steep but it sounds like the owner imports much of the beer himself. The food was great just a little on the small side for serving size. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 KansaiBeerLvrs (42) Kyoto, Japan | April 13, 2013 After Mugishutei, this is probably one of the coolest places to go out for beer in Japan. They have tons of rare American bottles available, a decent selection of Japanese & American craft beer on tap and prices for those are average for Tokyo. The rare bottles aren’t so badly priced when you figure this place gives you a chance to try Dark Lord from Three Floyds, Allagash, Founders, etc. which are usually unavailable in Japan or outside the brewery. The staff are knowlegeable, friendly & cool. The atmosphere is great but a bit too dark which made it tough to get good photos. They also have a bunch of beer goods like tshirts & glasses available. I heard the food is good and I will try it next time. All in all an excellent place and I will be sure to visit again whenever I am in Tokyo! | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 solros (5) stockholm, Sweden | April 10, 2013 The bar is worth a visit, visited the bar itself 3 times, they have good beer and variety and friendly staff who speak OK English. Not only beer but also Japanese whiskey. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 AndySnow (44) Stockholm, Sweden | April 1, 2013 A nice selection of american beers with some hard to find rarities. Japanese craft on tap as well as american. A bit pricey, but to be expected from the line up. Staff speaks English well enough for it to not be a problem. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 19/20 defresh (12) , Japan | March 10, 2013 For my money, the best bar in Japan. Best selection by far, nice relaxed ambiance, good food, and attentive staff. Only negatives for me are the high prices and out of the way location. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 nate2g (443) Boomtown! / Waikato, New Zealand | June 28, 2012 Popped into Craft Heads on a relaxed and quiet Sunday evening. Warm decor, dimmed lights, high stools along the bar. Heavy focus on US micros but there is local on tap too. Large fridge once again filled with US beers. Expect to pay big for the more obscure bottles. Staff were fine. I didn’t eat but the salt burger sounded interesting. A must while doing the rounds of Shibuya. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 17/20 EdKing (101) London, England | January 15, 2012 Ground floor bar in Shibuya with a stunning selection of craft beers, although weirdly it was clearly set up as a bourbon bar, judging by the insane number of bourbon whiskeys behind the bar. The layout of the bar is excellent with a row of seats along the counter and tables for larger groups. The ’wow’ factor here is that as well as a good array of Japanese micros on tap, they also have some American beers like Dark Lord, Speedway Stout etc, which you will rarely ever see in a bar. The downside is that the prices are high, even for Japan and the serving measures come with an inch or two of foam. Still a great place for beer lovers though and I still think £45 for Dark Lord ain’t bad considering you don’t have to queue for 4 hours to get it!
| 96 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 18/20 SweetHorizon (10) , New Zealand | November 28, 2011 Awed by the selection that they have here.
Good food, had the salt burger.
If I had found this place earlier I would have spent a lot more time and money here. Going back here next time I am in Japan. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 shoulderbroken (120) Tokyo, Japan | November 14, 2011 Nice looking place, with a mix of foreigners and locals. Had a really good selection of Japanese micros and American imports on tap. As usual for Tokyo, prices are a bit high, but not really much higher than anywhere else. Visited on a Friday night fairly late and didn’t have any trouble getting a table. Very friendly staff and happily put up with my bad Japanese. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 13/20 jonno (105) , Japan | October 13, 2011| Updated May 27, 2012 Pretty easy to find really. Basement - reasonably nice fit out. Good selection on tap - 800 yen for a decent size glass of Stone RIS. Lots of bourobn. There are those you think the owner is an arrogant bastard and those that say otherwise. I swing between the two. Three floyds. Staff were very nice. A lot of the good bottles in the fridge are not for sale. |
