This is a great little bar with a medium sized but expertly chosen selection of foreign beers. The first thing I noticed once inside was the half dozen or so different bottles from Hair of the Dog Brewery from Portland, OR, where I live. Even in Portland, those are excellent beers. Friendly and helpful staff steered me toward a couple of fine Japanese beers on tap. I was not disappointed. This place is not so easy to find; you certainly wonít stumble across it while wandering. From the Shibuya train station, head north toward the huge yellow signs for Tower Records. From the main entrance, cross the street to the west and toward the TGI Fridays, and turn north just before it. Go north one block until the street curves, then north another block past Freakís. The pub is a small almost unmarked storefront. Go down, and walk into a small pub with a lovely wooden bar and thick wooden tables. They had 11 foreign beers on tap, and 9 Japanese. They also had bottles from Hair of the Dog, Commons, Three Floyds, Bruery, Founders, Alesmith, Lost Abbey, and Stone. Japanese beers were about 1000 yen each. Foreign were pricey at 1200 to more than 2000 yen for a glass or bottle. 750 ml of the foreign beers could be 4500 yen. I suppose importing is expensive. Since I can get the American beers back home, I stuck with the Japanese beers and wasnít disappointed. Bottles are refrigerated, and can be opened at the bar or carried out.

Nice little bourbon and craft beer bar tucked away in Shibuya. Nice selection of drafts with what seems to be an equal amount of Japanese and imports (U.S., Europe, etc.). Very nice bottle list with breweries including Three Floyds and Hair of the Dog. Bartenders are very nice and talkative despite the language barrier. Some of the small plates/starters are a bit small portioned but the food is solid.

Very nice underground bar. Modern and trendy with a huge bar. Self serve water, which in love. Impressive selection including 3 Floyds. Owner is an English speaking beer geek and staff are reasonably helpful. Prices are a bit step though. A really good stop.

Found some American beers here that I hadnít tried in the States. But I mainly stuck to the Japanese stuff, interesting selection.

Love the atmosphere of the place, dark and cosy connoisseur whiskey/beer bar. Staff is quite friendly. Selection is just amazing and very geeky, the only place pretty much where you get the chance to taste so many rare bottles such as Three Floyds. Also some good selection of some unusual Japanese and Foreign drafts. Snack food is fine and goes well with the drinks. The only issue is that prices are very steep due to the premium selection, but thatís probably the right price for a very special night.

Just caught them before closing, so only time for an Oaked Arrogant Bastard. Seemed like a good selection. Will definitely go back.

A little bit hidden away, in a basement in an anonymous street. Quite small inside and quite dark. Good selection of beers on tap, counted ten Japanese and eight US beers. Also a list of bottled goodies. I quite liked the place.

As Jonno said some do "think the owner is an arrogant bastard". The selection of Hair of the Dog is worth the trip but everything else can be found elsewhere. For atmosphere Popeye is better and if ever in need of guidance, Ushi-Tora is a better bet.

I enjoyed this place a lot and was impressed by their selection of US craft beer. If you are hunting after some elusive bottles from Three Floyds they might have them in stock. The prices are a bit steep but it sounds like the owner imports much of the beer himself. The food was great just a little on the small side for serving size.

After Mugishutei, this is probably one of the coolest places to go out for beer in Japan. They have tons of rare American bottles available, a decent selection of Japanese & American craft beer on tap and prices for those are average for Tokyo. The rare bottles arenít so badly priced when you figure this place gives you a chance to try Dark Lord from Three Floyds, Allagash, Founders, etc. which are usually unavailable in Japan or outside the brewery. The staff are knowlegeable, friendly & cool. The atmosphere is great but a bit too dark which made it tough to get good photos. They also have a bunch of beer goods like tshirts & glasses available. I heard the food is good and I will try it next time. All in all an excellent place and I will be sure to visit again whenever I am in Tokyo!
