66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 deyholla (200) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma | September 23, 2012 Stopped in for dinner one evening with family while in school. A decent selection of beers but nothing that was particularly out of the norm. Large Irish feeling space that is two stories. Service was find but they weren’t particularly beer knowledgeable. Food was nothing great. Not a great beer destination IMO. | 60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 AguynamedTodd (89) Illinois | September 15, 2011 Have to agree with the previous reviewer. A decade or two ago this was a great place to get microbrewed beers. A lot has to do with location. It’s just off the square on the far end of Kirkwood. Food is pubgrub, not great but not bad. Help is not knowledgeable about their beers. I had to explain what a microbrew/craft beer is and give an example. At the end I settled for a Guinness. I like their bar itself; very nice old wood bar. Would love to have something like this in my place. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (215) New Jersey | May 8, 2009 Surprised to see I hadn’t rated this yet. A decade ago, the selection here might have seemed amazing; as of yesterday, the beer special was "Bud-family bottles for $3.50." Typical greasy pub grub is fine by me, staff seems a little overworked, and even outside seating is saturated noise. I don’t believe this to be a bad establishment, despite what the score might suggest, but I don’t like the vibe and there are better haunts literally seconds away. May offer a different experience in the lazy summer months. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 Optigon (40) Bloomington, Indiana | January 15, 2007 A fair selection of microbrews and imports, but very dominated by macrobrew culture. Decent food with a sports-bar ambiance. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 PhillyBeer2112 (64) Oviedo, Florida | November 3, 2004 Home of the 80 Beer Wheel and birthplace to my beer geekdom. I completed the 80 beer wheel in the summer of 1994, wish ratebeer was around back then! Their selection includes a few too many macro’s but regional micros are well represented. Food is ordinary, sandwiches, etc. My name is on the wall! |
