Another new brewpub in Oslo. They have a varied selection of beer, both bottled and on tap. The place seems to have a bit of an identity crisis as there are several different themes around the place. The homemade brews are decent, but some of them still needs some adjustments to be really great. Didn’t try the food.

After the official opening in January 2013 this newest brewpub in Oslo is still trying to find its identity, reflected in the confusing name question (are they called Crowbar, Crow or Kråka?). But brewmaster Dave Gardonio has done a great job composing recipes, resulting in a hoppy red ale, German-style roggen bier, spiced ales, a strong mild (!) as well as several IPAs. What I really like about Crow is the big blackboard behind the bar, listing info about each beer on tap. And with 10-15 guest beers you really need that! However, the pub still feels a bit fresh and very open downstairs, where people can look in at you through large windows along the street. Upstairs is a bit more cozy, but they’ve got some annoying loudspeakers up there which makes it hard to talk, so I still prefer the bar downstairs. And even if they’ve lowered the prices, Crow is still a bit more expensive than nearby Schouskjelleren. So, this brewpub still has some way to go but it has the potential to be one of the best in Oslo.

Yet another excellent beer destination in Oslo, located in the same area as Gaasa, Schouskjelleren and Mathallen. 20 beers on tap displayed on a large blackboard behind the bar. And a fridge with interesting bottled beers is practically placed on the public side of the bar. A rather large place with a modern, minimalistic interior decoration that has got some resemblance to the BrewDog bars in Britain. Quite busy with a mixed clientele at our visit on a Friday afternoon. Open from 15.00 till 03.30 every day. A special beer offering is a six pack (6x200ml) for NOK 249,- on Mon-Thurs. Usually the tap range includes five of their own beers brewed on the spot. Polite service (visited, 22.02.2013).

My first impression of crowbar was very good. Few places can you get such excellent beers on tap in Oslo. The kebab’s and chips upstairs are also great. Then we tried ordering the whole-cooked piglet. And we could not get an answer from anyone for several weeks. So even though I really enjoy the place, the managment needs to step up their game. I hope that they do well, because I would like to see this place stay around.

A brewpub which has a lot of space for guests on two floors. The premises is a bit strange looking but the bar area looks nice. They also serve strange food (including a whole suckling pig) but tastes good. A huge plus is that you can order a six-pack of beers monday to thursday that contains sample of six of the beers on tap. Pretty crowded in the late night at weekends and the atmosphere is electric but you can still order beers in 0.2 liter glasses. Their own beer is solid and worth a try.

Brand new beer place in the heart of Oslo. Big place with 20 taps of only micros, they own and some nice stuff from Mikkeller, Nøgne Ø, Rogue, Three Floyds and more. Good contacts these guys have! They have the "precious kebab" wich is a kebab roll filled with juicy pork. Right in the "kebab street" of Oslo! The selection on bottle is not that big but they have a lot of quality and rarities. Nice place. Although, this beer thing is becoming too trendy and too hip. So, real beer lovers avoid going here on weekends on less you wanna check out ladies!

Certainly worth stopping by, even if the home brews could be more exciting. Broad selection of micros from other domestic and international micros, including some rare bottles. Tend to have the same beers you find elsewhere in town.

Lovely place near the center of Oslo. Modern, industrial looking place with the right focuss on tap beers. 20 beers on tap, 100+ bottled beers. They had 5 own brewed beers on tap when visited plus a very nice selection of Norwegian & American brews on tap. 6 part sampler for 250 NOK (20cl each). Very nice and knowledgeable personnel. If you are in Oslo, this is a must to visit.

Industrial interior; 20 beers on tap with heavy rotation. 5 of their own beers when i was there. Only interesting beers on the tap list; possible to buy smaller sizes. Good bottle list but maybe a bit expensive. Already established as one of the best beer places in Oslo

Might be the place with the largest amount of micros on tap in Oslo, 20 in total, I’m pretty impressed to say the least. I just stumbled upon this place by chance on my way to another of Oslo’s beer cellars, I’d never heard of it, and thought I should check it out. The place is huge and was pretty empty, but seemed to attract a bunch of young Swedes for some reason. Two or three(?) floors reeks of ambition. The beers were fairly good but nothing special as of yet, the best they had to offer was the blonde in my opinion, although a Wasabi Stout was an interesting thought. With some months under the belt I’m guessing they’ll produce some quality brews.
