Cracking traditional old boozer on the main road through Lechlade, There is a stripped out feel to the pub, basic seating, then walls full of oddities, not sure why pubs do this really. The roaring fire is an obvious centrepoint and the banter is relentless. There were 4 hand pulls in operation on our visit all with there own breweries products. The food is mega hearty, how do they get their Yorkshire’s like that? Dog Friendly. Great country pub.

Lots of building work going on while I was there but they had a few of their own beers on with the brew-house right there in the yard. The staff were pretty awesome and friendly.

Visited on 22/08/09. Hard to miss brew pub in the centre of village, near the Halfpenny Bridge over the Thames, after which the brewery at the back of the pub is called. Four of the house ales were on offer, all in good condition. Service was friendly and attentive and the ploughmans lunch was huge and good quality. The beers are available to takeaway too. In a lovely part of England and well worth visiting.
