Cool little beer store tucked away on Rakoczi ut. I arrived earlier on in the day and nobody was home but came back later on and the main door was open. The guy running the place was really nice. I did pick up a couple of bottles of Black Rose which I did not come across elsewhere. Unfortunately there is no other Hungarian beers available here. A nice focus on Belgian, German and Czech beers with plenty of glassware available. A decent beer store for locals to get their fix of good beers in Budapest.

Easy to find (I guess this was the new location). Best selection of beers in Budapest. OK prices. Armando (the owner) is a nice guy and knows what he’s selling. A must when in Budapest.

It is full of character this little gem of a bottle shop that also offers four ales on tap. About 150 bottled beers mainly from Belgium, USA, Hungary, and Germany, two Hungarians, one BrewDog and a Belgian one on tap. I had the 6% version of the excellent Grabanc IPA made by the owner himself. In this little shop there are a few tables and chairs to sit down and enjoy foreign and home made brews. Armando was a very friendly guy who recommended Hungarian bottled beers for me. “Only good Beer” is located within 15 minutes walking distance from the heart of the city centre. A must visit hotspot for beers in Budapest for sure. Cheers to Armando629 on ratebeer (visited, 31.07.2012).

Tiny shop, look for the bike sign outside.
Well inside the building you will find a truly great selection of beer and glassware. Service is more like an 11, got my beers delivered to my hotel. Belgian, German, US and also some Czech beers to be found here. Hungarian micros as well. A must visit in Budapest.

As long as you have the address (and it is open) this place isn’t as difficult to find as advertised, but it is about the size of a bedroom. What it lacks in floor space, though, it more than makes up for in selection. I walked away with a number of excellent Danish and Belgian beers that I never thought I would find in Hungary. A must visit for anyone who makes it to Budapest.

What a LOVELY place!
You get everything you want here. Also a nice and pleasant atmosphere.
Not easy to find for tourists. And that is good :-)
But not to difficult to find for beerlovers!

Great little place. Lots of choice. 4 draft beers too. The owner clearly knows his stuff and is very helpful. I will be. Going back.

Uncommon finds for the region. Bottles + taps, includes 1 home beer (an IPA). No music in this tiny place makes the ambiance kind of awkward, but is ideal for getting to know the people sitting next to you. Worth supporting for sure.

Ok, this deserves a full rerate as it moved to a new location. Gergely’s store got a full upgrade. The new location is a bit less "central", though still central by all means, and, while still not huge, big enough to turn around and walk in, unlike the old broom closet. In any case, still the best selection in Hungary (in terms of diversity and quality). As others have said, good Belgian, American, Danish, British, Dutch etc. selection, even better in the context of where the store is. The prices are mostly quite good. He has 2 beers on tap now (his very own Grabanc IPA (definitely a nice beer), Anchor Porter and Corsendonk Agnus were there on my two visits). The Hungarian choice is limited to Grabanc and Bekesszentandrasi beers, but those are almost the only bottled Hungarian beers worth being in this selection, so that’s ok. Gergely (Armando) is one of the driving forces of the Hungarian craft beer scene and his English has improved, so you might have a nice chat. All in all, going to Budapest to hunt beers without stopping here is crazy.

Probably the trickiest place to find in the whole places section of Ratebeer, even though it’s in the middle of the city, but it’s worth it. Besides carrying a vast number of well selected imports there are also a small collection of Hungarian microbrews. The owner is probably one of the most knowledged about beer in Hungary, so I recommend that you start your exploration of the Hungarian beer scene here!
