72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 MrRomero (110) Nolanville, Texas | May 17, 2013 Went during a Bell’s event so I only drank Bell’s beer. Nice bar with some good beer selections. Good service at the bar. I could go here often if I lived here. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 deyholla (200) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma | December 1, 2012 Met up with two old friends here and was impressed by the tap selection. Server wasn’t particularly beer knowledgeable but food and drinks arrived promptly. A great selection of taps and a decent bottle list as well. Really liked the food as there were a number of unique offerings. Prices were great as well. This place definitely surprised me but would love to try again. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | May 21, 2012 This is a keast six places in one. It’s a deli coubter. It’s a bakery with great desserts. It’s a cocktail bar. It’s a patio cafe. It’s a nice restaurant/diner. It’s a cocktail bar. And, thankfully, it’s a beer destination. Service was terrific, even though I caught them on a lazy Monday, recovering fron Craft Beer Week. The beets on were OK, nothing exciting. It could be improved by featuring more stuff from local breweries, not just CCB Jai alai. The food was great - the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. Only the sugar on the chips (or crisps, to my British friends) kept it from being a 10 - a dirty trick, imho. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 pari6819 (40) Florida | March 20, 2012 Wonderful place to get great food and great beer. Their selection is pretty darn good, and seems to always have something new and interesting. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 kabsetter (5) Tampa, Florida | March 4, 2012 Datz came highly recomened by several people. Did not disapoint on any level. Impressive for such expectations, and the beer was all served at the RIGHT tempature. We had a ola duba 18 reserve and a ballast point vanilla imperal porter. The food was simple in concept, yet exquisitely excuted in a unique way. The service was excellent and we had a most enjoyable time. A sandwich, 2 grest beers and desert came to $55, a value all things considered (quality, service, selection).
We will enjoy Datz again when the need to treat ourselves permits. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 AdmSlackbar (1) Florida | August 5, 2011| Updated August 19, 2011 Good food, friendly and knowledgeable servers, good beer selection that’s rotated constantly. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 drowland (142) Jacksonville, Florida | June 2, 2011| Updated August 19, 2011 Visited mid-May, 2011
A really nice place with a couple of levels of seating. My only complaint would be that it seems a bit small, and it was filled with hipsters when I was there.
My waitress was attentive and knew basic information about most of the beers.
The beer selection is good, but nothing crazy for the area. I hear they have special Cigar City casks now and then, but I wasn’t around at the time.
The sandwich I had was very good, but I didn’t care for their sweet chips, which is the only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10. I also wish that their menu as available all day, as I really would have liked to try some of the items that were "breakfast/dinner/weekend only."
Prices tend to be on the high-side, but it’s very good food, so that is to be expected. Beer prices were slightly above average.
Overall, I think this is a definite stop while visiting Tampa. Take a look at the menu, figure out what you want to eat, and make sure you go at that time. You’re bound to have a good beer while eating it as well! | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 16/20 FloridaNative (19) Florida | May 16, 2011 Generally speaking, this is an example of a top notch organization that comes into a sleepy Florida town (Tampa) and with it’s worldly experience, makes all the local competition look like idiots. A great beer selection and a recently renovated bar area, some of the finest gourmet mid-brow food around, and a usually expert staff are the shining points of this establishment. Detractors are the location (super gentrified country club in middle of Tampa Hyde Park), prices (sometimes a value[the reuben], sometimes a ripoff[the salads]), and parking is a plain nightmare. While I will make it a point to dine there with friends in from out of town, I personally recommend places a little more off the beaten path. | 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 jrallen34 (271) Chicago, Illinois | March 31, 2011 Fresh of the plane at lunch time we headed directly to Datz. 30 minute wait by 12:45 and a total lack of parking. Walking in to see a huge cooler with bottle beers eased by annoyance. This is a huge place, very nice inside, a cool demonstration lunch table set up to the right when you walk in. They have 37 taps, all very solid stuff, including three CCB beers, including Soggy Loaf which is brewed only for them and is a must try. The bottle list is extensive probably about 100 very solid beers. The selection and quality are great however, but only criticism is that besides the CCB beers, every other beer was something I could get in Chicago. I know there’s not a huge Florida craft scene but I would love to see their beer list be more regional, so many choices out of Georgia alone... The service was decent enough, a lit slow and definitely were not beer people. We got a drink at the bar before we got out table and when we got seated our waitress tried to take the bottle list before I even saw it because we had drinks, and after asking her for the draft list I never got it... The sandwiches here are AWESOME. They are huge and very filling. Great unique combos, like my chicken, apple, and 4 onion compote! Reminds me of Jerry’s in Chicago, but with more beer but less food options... This was a thoroughly enjoyable meal and I would gladly come back here to again.
A Tampa must stop for lunch. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 MikeMoriendi (50) Boynton Beach, | March 16, 2011 Went here with my friends while we were in town the day before Hunahpu’s Day. Very cool layout with tables upstairs and downstairs, a deli counter to the left and the bar all the way in the back. I like the takeout bottles and formerly used tap handles on the shelves. We were disappointed they were only open until 10 on a Friday night and that might be the only downside. The selection was very nice and the pricing on beer wasn’t bad. They have a pumpernickel rye beer made for them by CCB called Soggy Loaf. Pretty good beer. We didn’t eat so I won’t comment on that. The service was very good from a friendly staff. Definitely a good place to hit up. |
