Spent an evening here with some colleagues, very spacious cafe for this part of Amsterdam (nieuwmarkt), tons of seating available spread out over 3 half floors. Slightly beat up looking bar, but it has a bit of vintage charm. It got progressively fuller as we sat there (from 7 to midnight) but was never crowded on a Friday night. Waitress was kind, efficient and knowledgeable. They had 4 of their beers on tap, nothing stellar but certainly drinkable. Prices were pretty hefty, at 6,50 a pint this may be the most expensive brewpub in A’dam. They had some typical Dutch pub grub that was decent as food. Would return if given the occasion.

Pleasant little Cafe bar close to Cafe de Engelbewaarder, so good to group up the both of them. Certainly open at 11:30 am for early tasters and I went for the tasting tray, which was good fun. The waitress was excellent, making sure I had exactly the beers that I wanted, no request was scorned, even suggesting the order I should try them in, she knows her stuff. Lovely sitting outside on a sunny lunchtime, it’s busier here than the other side of the canal but not overly so.

Visited March 2013. Only one! staff to serve the entire place on this very busy day. And she was rude!!! "No selfservice at the bar!, so sit down." Yes, maam! Cobber kettles placed to view. The beers were under average. The "Witte" OK.

I was there when it was very quiet, but the staff were extremely friendly and the brewer was happy to chat.
The place seemed well laid out and is in a good location close to the red light area. They have a very good range of beers, including (when I was there) four of their own beers on tap - I tried the bock (in season)

Visited September 2012.
This was a stop in the middle of the day after having been shut down at Bierfabriek and gone site seeing (Rebrandt’s house and Anne Frank’s house plus some other stuff). Despite being quiet and not having a ton of beers to pick from I liked sitting out on the sidewalk and trying the house beers right next to a canal. It may have had more to do that I wasn’t burned out on the giant tourist trap that Amsterdam is at this point but I thought the place had a nice atmosphere with decent house beers. OK, the house beers weren’t great but they were certainly drinkable, and the brewing set up is interesting. It’s all copper and on display in the back of the café.

15.07.2013. Very nice brewpub with classic interior with the brass and everything. We sat outside and enjoyed good quality beers together with some kind of cheese! Very nice combo! Very nice to sit quietly by the canal and enjoy the atmospher with all the busy bicyclers!

Visited a couple of times. Being placed where it is, the brewpub can be a bit crowded and touristed. Typical brewpub deco, long bar and lots of small tables. When we have been around they have had 3 of their own beers on, and they were not served in the best condition. They do food as well which is ok.

The staff are a little cold dealing with too many tourists and a generally huge crowd. There is little to be known about the brewery and the three beers they serve basically have no info. Food is decent enough and for a fair value. Would give this place a miss.

Nice brewpub close the very lively part of Amsterdam. A little patio in the front is unfortunately not on the sunny side for a late after-noon dinner. Interior is bigger than expected from the outside. Seems to get very busy at night. They had three of their home brews on tap as well as 4 commercial beers. Bottle selection was about 50 easy to find mostly Belgian beers. I had two pints of their own beers, one was pretty bad and the other one was just ok. We had dinner. Food ranges from burgers to some slightly more elaborated meals. Not too expensive, you eat a full meal for 10 to 15 Euros. We had the burgers and they were good. This place is not a must-visit, but there is only 3 brewpubs in the entire Amsterdam and therefore the true pub-crawler will make a stop there. I did, no regret, but not going back.
